Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
This is going to be a classic case of 'you can't fix it all in one offseason' deals. They will likely try to go with Gomes at SS and sign a free agent to play FS or convert Barnes to a FS-although I think he's a bit slow and stiff for that position.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
Yup. Although I hope we make some moves, reluctantly I am mentally preparing to just accept that safety will be a weakness for us. Griffin will need to put up a lot of points to overcome deficits in our secondary.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
This isn't a scheme issue, no matter how many excuses you want to make for a player you like. The fact is he has been benched/cut by two teams now and one of them Bill Belicheat. If BB cuts your ass, chances are we don't want him either.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
You can't fix everything in one offseason, however, it is silly to get another CB when we have two starters. Yes, I know our starting CBs are not perfect, but we have no starters at safety. As I said, I'd be fine with taking a CB if we are moving one our current CBs into the safety spot.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
Does anyone know if we have plans to grab Matt Leinart? He sorta makes sense as a bridge for RG3

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
Whats interesting to me is that we are able to get Reheem Morris but we dont really seem to be giving him much help. I thought he would be able to draw more weight and get a couple guys he really wants.
Talib is on the last year of his contract and is due 2.2 million this year. Maybe he ends up getting released or traded cheaply?

It's better not to switch back and forth between lefties and righties though. Not as a bridge though, a backup. There will be no bridge.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
I know the cupboard is a bit bare, but I'd like to see us take a peek at some O-lineman here pretty soon.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
It's not looking positive for Winston. He has 3 visits lined up and we're not one of them. (Miami, KC, STL)
Reported that 10 teams are interested.

And the problem if you shoot for mediocrity -- and ask anyone who has watched our offense the last two or three years -- is that you typically don't get anything resembling mediocrity. We need to either reinforce our strength (the linebacker level) or fix our weaknesses (secondary, safeties, corner depth, D-Hall). I realize we're too cap restrained to do both, but just pick one or the other and at least try to make an incremental improvement over last year.
