Agreed. It’s just common sense after 7 games. But based on those 7 games id say he is at least closer to stud than dud. Most passing yards after 7 games in franchise history would point in that direction.

He's trending in the right direction for sure. He's shown enough where we should feel good about him finishing out the season as the starter.

No doubt. Will be an interesting situation if he finishes the season on the same trajectory( meaning he continues to flash and reduces the sacks … winds up like a top 10-15 quarterback), but we wind up with a top 5 pick and Maye or Williams is sitting there. Do we start again at quarterback or do we take a highly touted OT? I hope we don’t wind up in that position for obvious reasons but it would be quite the decision to make.

Kind of hard to picture finishing with a top 5 pick especially if Sam continues to improve.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

EB stinks. We are six games in and teams that can't rush are getting sacks. He needs to make sure that while his QB is still a work in progress, keep calling plays that gets the ball out of his hands. Do your best to stay out of 3rd and long. Have a better play action game. Call some more screens. Be committed to the run. Protection should be FIRST, not getting 5 wr's out all the time. We're not that offense right now... I just don't think EB is doing enough.

I just think we need to hire Ben Johnson to be honest. When I see a QB like Goff, who was throw out like trash in LA, playing his best ball you have to take notice. Why is he playing so well? He's only been sacked 10 times. Sam 34.

Playing Rodriguez more would help, he runs hard and gains yards, he’s also excellent at blitz protection

He certainly was and people definitely noticed, but we probably won’t see him again because Ron gonna Ron.

Leno has been dealing with family issues and maybe has been distracted? I’ll give the benefit of the doubt. Lucas did an outstanding job covering for Leno.

All the good vibes and sympathy in the world to Leno but he was underperforming long before this issue.

Howell wasn’t drafted number one overall, and isn’t an absolute headcase. Sam has way better accuracy, and is mobile.

Of course after 7 games it is impossible to compare him to anyone.

I am thoroughly convinced you were at a strip club, had a sweet piece of ass all lined up and as you were walking over to ask for a lap dance Sam walked in and that sweet piece of ass along with every other stripper in the joint flocked to him. He than turned to you and tossed you his keys because he thought you were the valet. Your night was ruined, you were humiliated, and you had to go down the street to the other club where the girls look like they should pay you.
