Re: Welcome Carson Wentz

The Browns wanted Wentz , now Watson.. I wonder if DC Media will still question the trade now...

You know who is pretty good at QB1 but isn't necessarily the leader or a leader on his team? Lamar Jackson, he is not even a Captain for the Ravens. He maybe in the history of league MVPs the only one who was/is not a Captain.

My point is you don't have to be the alpha leader of your team to be a effective QB1.
True, but one of Ron's strengths is developing leadership and accountability so there is reason to have some optimism that playing for Ron will be good for him and therefore us.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz

To put this into perspective,

Mitch Trubisky's highest graded season is a 63
That is Carson Wentz's worst season

It was basically down to those 2 guys for us..

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz

I would have been so mad if it was Trubisky.

I would have wanted Jimmy G, but the team talked to the 49ers at the combine, so at that point, I figured that was out (and everyone else turned us down). They really did the only thing they could do to upgrade the position. (a rookie would have been a coin flip at best and probably not very good in year 1). I'm still not against drafting a guy. Wentz is better for now, but QB probably isn't 'solved' here.

I really thing the trade market for Jimmy is dwindling and the 49ers may be forced to release him. There's still the draft and a last minute trade I guess. But I'm sure his surgery and shoulder issue is not helping his trade market.

They didn't hold a presser for Fitz did they? This is a long term move for Washington

They did a virtual press conf bc of covid

With Wentz, it seems they want to not extend him so that his contract stays as is so they can get out next year if he gets injured or doesnt fit.

If they extend him or rework his contract so some cap hit this year becomes a bonus in future years .. then maybe they see him as a long term answer.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz

Bruce would have made the trade for Wentz and immediately signed him to an extension.

Smart that we're letting this play out. Easy out next year if it doesn't work.

Did you get your Wentz jersey yet?? lol

Ok I already like this guy just cause of what he is wearing. Love the shirt and the jacket! Those are Redskin colors!!!! Not that cheap cranberry shit.

Chips are stacked against him, and I still feel like we should draft someone but I'm rooting for this guy. He doesn't even need to get back to 2017 to stabilize things here. Go get him a wr in the first round to go along w/ Terry.

It is, but we will still gave up alot in free agency for it to play out. Definitely some players we probably would have kept, and some we couldn’t go after. That being said I understand why Ron had to do what he did, and am really hoping we see 2017-2019 Carson Wentz. That would really be nice. Lol.

I like Wentz's answer about going to play in Philly -- "I'm very aware of it and I'll be ready."

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz

Carson needs a strong line, and Turners help. We definitely need another WR, Samuel, LT, and JD staying on the field would be pretty damn great too!
He needs to stay focused, and not panic. If he has protection and weapons that will go a long way towards focus. It isn’t like he is limited in arm strength as alot of previous quarterbacks were. By the time the season starts I will be so drunk on koolaid about him being 2017 Wentz. Lol
