Then I'd say I rather trade down in order for BPA to match a need, and get extra value. Mainly because I feel you never know what you draft, you're only guessing. And as KI said, you can't have all the depth you'd like at every position. Especially if that means leaving a need unfilled.

PFF graded him a 85, that's really high. I like that with a NT, means he's not only flashy, he's also doing the dirty work that only film breaking nerds see and that allows teammates to make plays. If we get him and identify a G we can get in the first 2 rounds, then I'm OK with BPA. Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Hankins would help us look at CB in the early rounds, I hope they get that done. Also would like DRC to finally sign.

Redskins agreed to a two-year deal with CB Orlando Scandrick worth a max of $10m, source says

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
I'm assuming a lot of this 10 million is incentive based. Hopefully most of the cap space is next year. We still need Hanky Panky.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Note that signing Scandrick does not count against the 'Skins in the compensatory pick formula, because Scandrick was released from his contract with his former team, as opposed to left in free agency. The same would apply to Johnathan Hankins if the Skins can get it done.
They would be in line for a 3rd from Cousins, a 5th from Trent Murphy, and a 7th from Niles Paul. They would also get a 5th from Spencer Long but it seems Paul Richardson would cancel that one out. Scandrick would not count against them. Neither would DRC (who they probably won't sign now), neither would have Muhammed Wilkerson who they pursued, and neither would Hankins, and neither would Pernell McPhee. It's clear the Redskins are embracing a new strategy and I'm impressed, I have to say. They are clearly considering the value of the player AND the value of the compensatory pick. They're intentionally pursuing free agents who were released so they keep the compensatory selections, at least as much as possible.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
If DRC's price comes down to $5M sometime in April and he signs with somebody else, I'mma be pissed. Meh is right.
But if DRC signs elsewhere at a higher cost, and we end up using the rest of our cap space wisely (hopefully on Hankins) then I'll be OK with it.
