Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News
For the extraordinary success the Patriots have had, I think it is beyond reasonable debate that both Brady and Belichick have been critical. Brady had been clutch for years, often with very little talent around him. And Belichick can get average guys to play better than expected. Period. Most teams that are perennial contenders have a great QB and an excellent coach. They surely do. B

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News
With the departure of Morris & Hazlett, and the addition of McCloughan, it just seems to me that BA's Tampa Mafia is being disassembled. It seems that the coaching staff and personnel units are getting a makeover.
If Gruden felt more comfortable with Barry b/c he knew him and felt he was a grinder. Okay, not holding the TBay connection against him. It appears that Gruden did his due diligence in looking into Fangio and other established DC's. Obviously, still not thinking we are doing any massive turnaround in one year (or even two), but encouraged that they seem to be broadening their horizons. Really, McCloughan and Callahan are two major positives ... if they add A. Highsmith after the draft to replace Scott Campbell, well, that's some serious offseason winning. Check back in five years, however, to see if DS stays committed to the slow build.

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News
If we are so devoid of talent, should we expect a large roster turnover next season?

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News
Well, we gotta have someone to play the games. I would expect a large turnover. Hard to say though.

If I remember correctly, we had a pretty big turnover when Shanny came to town. Though I don't remember if it happened right away or not.

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News
Redskins hired ex-Giants DC Perry Fewell as DBs coach.
Fewell was also a candidate for the 49ers' defensive-backs job. Fewell has been coordinating defenses or coaching defensive backs in the NFL since 1998. He's a nice addition to DC Joe Barry's staff, especially since Barry himself was such an underwhelming hire per rotoworld nice hire imo. really nice

Yes. It's normal. If I recall, the big purge came in year 2 of Shanny's regime. Lots of players who had been around since Gibbs 2.0 and the Zorn years.
