Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News
Wow. I couldn't believe this when I heard about it. What a horrible turn of events for ST. All positive thoughts being sent his way...

Sean was raised by a police chief, never got in any trouble at the U. He made a few bad choices right after coming into the league, and hasn't had a single off-field transgression since. But he "embraced" thug life, right Wilbon? What an asshole.

Does anyone have a link to the Wilbon article/comments you guys are referring to?

Redskins Post-Game - washingtonpost.com
Cindy, who helps out JLC, fielded questions on the WP's website around 2:30 today. Cindy seems to suggest that the coma was medically induced. If true, that's very good news. |

While his body is still alive, the fear is that he is brain-dead or brain-damaged. If it's the former, eventually they will take him off life support. If it's the latter, he's got a lot of rehab ahead of him and he may never be the same. Regardless, I think you are right. If it were a complete rupture, he would have bled out completely within a few minutes and we wouldn't even be having this discussion. I certainly hope he pulls through. |

"People's opinions are shaped by the way they've grown up, the way they see the world, what they know about the world the person in question grew up in, etc. Sean Taylor isn't the only guy I know who fits his general profile. I've known guys like Taylor all my life, grew up with some. They still have shades of gray and shouldn't be painted in black and white...I know how I feel about Taylor, and this latest news isn't surprising in the least, not to me. Whether this incident is or isn't random, Taylor grew up in a violent world, embraced it, claimed it, loved to run in it and refused to divorce himself from it. He ain't the first and won't be the last. We have no idea what happened, or if what we know now will be revised later. It's sad, yes, but hardly surprising." -Michael Wilbon

Thanks, scud. I see what has everyone up in arms. Seems like a really inappropriate comment to make when a man is fighting for his life. Not the time for, "I told you so..." Really lowers my opinion of Wilbon. |

Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News
Prayers go out to Sean and his family. I am coming down to watch the game against the Bears and was trying to think of what jersey I wanted to buy and I think after this (if he plays again or not) I will be picking up a 21 Taylor jersey as Sean is a true Redskin.... I hope he makes it through this and lives a great and happy life. The dream would be to see him on the field again one day, but just to be able to live and be with his wife, kid, family and friends is more then enough.

The Chat House - washingtonpost.com. What he's done in my opinion is tell everyone White, Black, Hispanic (whatever) who has tried to make a change in their life and better themselves that they shouldn't bother. You are what you always were.

Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News
Now he's reported as unconscious and non-responsive.
Come on Sean, you can recover.
