Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
At this point, its over, and no matter how pissed you were/are, the only option is to accept it and all pull for Alex and the team to be successful. We all know, no one's leaving this team. We're all in it together till death do us part. HTTR!

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
No way he makes it here 5 years. All it takes is one bad year and it's over. Coach will be gone, front office people could be gone and there will be a new QB. We're closer to 5-6 wins vs. 11-12 wins.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
I really don't have an issue with the Alex Smith for Kirk Cousins swap. I knew long ago that Cousins wasn't signing here based on his (and his fathers) words and actions. It doesn't take a genius to read between the lines. Like what was mentioned prior, we can now expect less turnovers from Smith than we saw with Cousins (fumbles and INTs) Maybe that's the difference in some of the games? I just think they gave a bit too much for him but it is what it is. If we get that 3rd rounder back from Cousins departure, it'll soften the blow of losing Fuller.
My only worry with Alex Smith is that he has a 66 QB rating when under pressure. Yikes that's terrible.

Kirk is better against the pressure in the pocket but Smith is better rolling out and finding space. Both are great on PA PASSING, Smith has a better deep ball. To me its a great move for 3 years, he'll be 37 and done by then most likely, Kirk will go on to Denver and see the grass aint always greener

All Smith's teammates like playing for him.
Notice how a bunch of Skins players are pissed Fuller is gone, but I haven't seen one headline about being pissed Kirk is gone.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
The $11mm number I mentioned earlier comes from the fact it would have taken at least 28+ mm on a transition tag, at the minimum, to retain Cousins. We get Alex Smith this year for 17 mm. This is savings for statistically the same player and an average of 5mm less for what it might have taken to keep Cousins here for the same amount of time.
The likely scenario with Cousins was that we could only keep him for one more year.

Geez SF and the Browns have over 100K of cap space for 2018. Holy cow!
off topic i know, but just shocked. It's probably early, but looking forward to the cap breakdown you do Schneed. |

With all that money they could probably bring in Rex Grossman.
