LOL Rex and running don't work in the same sentence. He waddles...slowly.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread wk 1

I took a few short videos on my phone of the 4 qb's taking snaps and passing/handing off. pretty decent way to compare the four in one view.

edit: so i tried, and the videos weren't as good as i hoped. This one does have a clear shot of Griffin and Cousins side by side, with Griffin backpedalling nicely:

CR!! If you had taken one step back, I would have been in the frame.

It's a worthwhile experience to go to training camp if you can. I will say Rex Grossman kept the ball on an option read in 11 on 11 drills and actually faked out a defender.

Griffin had a beautiful 50 yard pass into a double covered Alrdick Robinson and he hit him right on the money. He just looks like a lame duck if he were to have to avoid pressure. I'm interested to see how he looks in one month, as I'm sure we all are.

Moss has also been fairly impressive with some one handed grabs etc.

In one-on-one drills, Garcon was crushing everyone. Wilson was being beat pretty regularly in coverage.

How was fan appreciation day? I didn't go because its a zoo (supposedly there was 20-25000 people there today; and I read that someone had been in line since 11:30pm last night to get good seats today.)

Sounds about like his tenure here.

Why do I have a feeling that Josh Wilson won't be on our Week 1 roster..?

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread wk 1

this might be a little late re the signing of barnett but i went to a bills fan forum to see what they said and this one guy gives some good insight imo plus the "stand there until something happens" line re their D scheme was pretty damn funny

Re: Redskins sign Barnett

I like Barnett, he played 90 some percent of the snaps in a ridiculously rigid incompetent defense with the only other linebacker, if there was one being Scott, who if he wasn't a linebacker on the play was surely the db backing Barnett in coverage because he was so essentially vital to Wannstedt's "do the same stuff every play because I am confused" defense.

The coverage was essentially "you stand there until something happens or you run at them if you think other stuff is happening", a key way to use an lb in his 30's who is the only linebacker linebacking but you insist runs right when all the opponent tight ends run left, or left when they run right, then note his stats were not up to par.

Barnett wasn't the problem, none of them were, not even Scott, the defense was, and I wouldn't be real surprised to see Barnett do well for a few more years.

But come on, stop this "Barnett was bad" stuff. He played over 90 percent of the snaps and the next closest LB who wasn't an LB was Scott less than 60%. Barnett, who he is, played the whole season in a Wannstedt nickel. He's not God's gift to linebackers, but he was hardly so bad being a 30 something lb who wasn't going to suddenly become Lawrence Taylor in his prime, and no one in their right mind thought we were getting Taylor in his prime to begin with, but it's trendy to say he did poorly for not being superman on a Wannstedt defense.

Good luck to Nick Barnett.

Redskins sign Barnett

How has E.J Biggers looked at training camp? I am not too familiar with him as a player. Is he a good cover guy? Run support? Press?

You think we trade him? I could see San Fran giving us a pick for him since it seems they're trying to get as many CBs as possible.

I've read that he's been beaten like a drum by Moss constantly in camp, but then again, Moss is a great slot WR.

Haven't heard much else though about him against the rest of our WR's.
