I know some here think these signings are garbage but think about who our QB is about to be? A young scrambler with a rocket arm that needs his recivers to have speed down field, and garcon has gotten better every year he's a good signing

Someone forgot a stat in comparing Moss, Gaffney and Garcon:

Gaffney 31
Moss 32
Garcon 25

Gaffney and Garcon may have had similar years last season, but they are passing each other on different trajectories.

On Garcon and Morgan, those contracts a legit. Player-friendly, not team friendly.

Redskins got a pretty good bargain on Carriker though.

Feel like Redskins are going to hold out and try to "win" against Fletcher, where they were okay to give Garcon the eye-popping numbers he was looking for.

Speaking of the Giants, they don't have a 6'2 plus possession WR either but still have a great passing game (because of Peyton's baby brother).

It really depends on the QB and more specifically how accurate he is i.e. less accurate QBs will need larger WR to reach the same completion success as the more accurate passer w/ average size WR. Fingers crossed RGIII is the latter

I agree he plays bigger than he is los. From what limited action he had, I thinks it's reasonable to hope Hankerson will play the same way.

The Royal deal I don't get tho beyond the Denver connection...

I like the pickups. Garcon I'm really excited about, Morgan I hope he becomes more consistent but he was considered a sleeper by many in NFL circles. It always is encouraging when we sign players (Garcon & Morgan) that their old teams wanted to keep but for some reason couldn't. Means they saw some value in their 4 years there.

I've wanted Royal since Shanny got here and think that Moss is done so he'd be an apt replacement for Moss.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

If we cut moss I see it but if not then idk. Also Hank looked great vs Miami but injury that early is scary

Good. Garçon is 25. Fletcher is 36. If we're going to invest Big in someone it should be the guy who will still be in the nfl in 5 years. Fletcher is excellent, but his best days are behind them. He's going to hit a wall sooner or later and I'd rather lose him a year too early than hold on to him a year too long. It's a tough situation but that's how a responsible team operates.

Only holds true if there's a (defensive) leader and locker-room leader to replace him. Tough call imo...
