Tell us more about him? He hasn’t taken offers to HC jobs before - why come here? The good thing about Snyder’s search for a high caliber HC is great for every Redskins fan who wants to dump Bruce Allen. A HC coming hear has leverage over Snyder and can dictate his terms : 1. Fire Bruce 2. Give him a say in player acquisition- draft or FA 3. Reduce or eliminate Snyder’s control on football decisions for the team. 4. 5 year contract with guaranteed money ANY HC Who comes here with those preconditions will do well, because the team has dived so low. Snyder may have to fundamentally change how this team has operated for 20 years to get the shiny and flashy HC he wants Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Shaw is pretty widely respected as a HC from his time at Stanford, and he's got a lot of experience as an assistant in the NFL. He's been on several team's short lists in recent years including the Skins.

The only way ANY top class HC comes here is if BA is gone. In fact, the entire management style and philosophy of the team for the last 20 years has to be changed. Eight HC have worked under Snyder and all have failed (including two HOFers). Snyder has a fairly easy path toward success, but it involves giving up on BA and his insistence on being involved in football decisions even though he has little actual NFL knowledge. If he hires a top end HC, then he’s willing to make the changes. If he hires from within the organization, or some wacko choice like Zorn, then it’s just more of the same. It doesn't matter at all. Snyder has the mark of beast and we all know it.

Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
On Tuesday, Pro Football Network’s Benjamin Allbright reported that Bieniemy is considered Washington owner Dan Snyder’s front runner for his team’s coaching vacancy. The Athletic’s Ben Standig confirmed that Bieniemy is indeed on the team’s short list, according to a source with knowledge of candidates of interest to Washington. Wednesday, NBC Sports Washington’s J.P. Finlay reported that quarterback Alex Smith has Snyder’s ear, and it isn’t a stretch to believe that he could sway the owner towards Bieniemy, who was the Kansas City Chiefs running backs coach from 2013-17 when Smith was the quarterback.
The Athletic spoke to a source close to Bieniemy, who said it’s likely Smith is also talking to Bieniemy about the situation in Washington, as well as Bieniemy asking the quarterback about the team and how he feels about it. The source said the reason Bieniemy wasn’t interested in the Cincinnati Bengals opening last year was because of questions about the team’s quarterback situation. The source doesn’t exactly know how Bieniemy feels about Washington’s rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Still, young players such as running back Derrius Guice, receivers Terry McLaurin, Kelvin Harmon, and Steven Sims could be of interest.

I think any OC would like to work with these pieces. Also don't forget about Love who may be a long shot but still was clearly the best back in the country two years ago. Haskins? I think that will be a hang up. Someone may not want to be forced to develop such a project. But I think we can get a good coach here as long as he has authority over his staff and the roster. |

Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
It will be very interesting to see if any of the top coaches on the “list” will embrace Haskins .. there is enough tape on Dwayne for them to see what they have to work with .. firing Bruce is number one priority in getting a top coach but don’t underestimate the QB role in the hire.. I would love to see Dwayne become the man however I’ve seen very little to give me hope..

I would take an EB / Ron Rivera combo
