Compared to what we have, all of those sound great. But seriously, O'Brien and Jay Gruden both sound like good candidates. However, the HC is going to need a good staff. Our staff, from top to bottom, is not good right now.

Sheehan and Schefter were talking earlier on 980 and indicated that Jay wasn't interested in DC, not a fan of the noise and drama but money and opportunity talks.

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Exactly this. Head coach is the big talk of town but I'm equally anxious to see what coordinators/position coaches are hired under the new regime.

What do you think of these guys?? And is there any chance Lovie, Gwilliams or Whisenhunt come aboard?

Shaw has stated he has no interest in leaving Stanford. With that being said though, every man has his price...

SS what's the real life chances of shaw coming here? I know it's a long shot but is there any hope?

I think Whisenhunt would be a great fit, and he has done some nice work with QB's including Phillip Rivers' bounce back this season and resurrecting Kurt Warner's career after a disastrous stint in New York.

O'Brien may be the best choice if the goal is to try to win with Shanahan's players. Not that that's really a main goal, but it could be a perk.

O'Brien and Jay Gruden are both good talent evaluators, which is something that this franchise has struggled with since Marty. Having a coach that can tell the difference between a good player and a not as good player can really go a long way to helping out a young GM.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)

The thing is, Griffin can look great in a wide variety of systems, so the Redskins can go very out of the box with this hire and pay it off. They don't have to focus on grabbing a known quantity.

The interesting thing about O'Brien's system is how rarely the quarterback runs. It would probably be great for Griffin's development. But on the other hand, there's a huge skill that we paid dearly for that would be largely pushed to the side.

Bill O'Brien: Potential to be great, but I think you have to be patient with him

Gruden: He's a small town guy and I worry how he would handle DC (fans and media)

Briles: I don't know. I don't like that he doesn't have any NFL experience at all. It's a big risk I think that I'm too timid to take a chance on

Shaw: Spoke to him end of last week, he reiterated he doesn't want to leave for the NFL

Whisenhunt: Very solid coach, can he work with RG3's skill set? I don't know

GWilliams: Could very easily see him returning, but as a DC

Lovie: Don't see it happening

Grimm: Don't see that either

Other than Lovie, not a single person listed strikes me as a sure fire upgrade over Shanahan. I understand it's trendy to hate on Shanahan now, but Why buy out Shanahan and his staffs contracts for someone who's not clearly better?

Mike doesn't want to be here anymore that's y and I wonder what interest Todd Bowles has in coaching the skins
