Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
We picked players that we could have signed as free agents, the LB out of USC is a waste, the kid Blades is a nice kid, maybe you could have thrown a 7th rd pick at him, but to pass up on Crosby was just plain stupid.
Another draft and we prove once again how stupid we are, Gibbs should just shut his mouth when he continually talks about how we will find those hidden gems on day 2, Bobby Beathard did that, he's off the wall on day 2. This is his 4th draft how many day 2 players actually have made the team? Golston is the only one that I can think of that actually saw legitamate playing time, Montgomery at least made the team. Mcune, and a couple of others, but Golston is the only one to remotly contribute in 4 years that I can think of? |

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
The problem I have with the late round LBs is that they don't play Rocky, so what's the point of drafting all of these kids? All I know is they better turn out much better than McCune. They're up now, let's see where they go...

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
Jordan Palmer? Seriously? The best thing he's done is be born from the same mother who gave birth to Carson...no defensive ends I guess. Hope some get cut post June 1

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
i mentioned before they said they would draft a young qb to groom as a backup. no1 should be suprised, i dont think there are any decent dlinemen left. next year we would have no qbs besides campbell

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
Perhaps a solid career backup for campbell, brunell and collins are in their late 30s

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
We took a QB, Carson Palmer's brother, at no. 205. Obviously, they are going by the "best player available" method now. Forget the DL. I give up on this FO. The Return of Gibbs experiment will go down in Skins history as a glorious failure.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
jordan palmer
nfldraftcountdown Strengths: Has prototypical size...Was extremely productive...Team captain who shows some leadership ability...Tough, strong and relatively durable considering the beating he took at times behind a sub par offensive line...Accurate with good touch when he's not being pressured...Still has some upside...A lot of his weaknesses can be addressed with good coaching...You can't ignore the family history and pedigree. Weaknesses: Throws way too many interceptions...Field vision is questionable and he will force throws...Technique and mechanics are inconsistent and need a lot of work...Does not stand up to pressure well...Is not very mobile and will not hurt defenses with his feet...Arm strength is adequate but not special...He might be too easy going. Notes: Brother of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, who won the Heisman Trophy and is a former #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft...Nickname is "J.P."...Is not nearly the prospect that some make him out to be and a lot of that has to do with his bloodlines...Certainly has some physical tools to develop and he could thrive in the right situation but it's too much to expect him to be as good as his brother is.
