Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
@AndrewBrandt
Josh Harris hiring former Warriors GM Bob Myers to an executive role. First outgrowth of leveraging his ownership/experience in other sports, bringing in a proven talent from the NBA. Don't need a "football guy" for team-building and culture change. |

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Most organizations and businesses hire people from myriad experiences. It provides a different lens for growth. We'd still have QBs that are shit at sliding if they didn't hire baseball coaches to teach them but that happened 30 years ago.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Feels like the Snyder era is officially over now and we finally have adults in the room running things.
@granthpaulsen Commanders fans, thing about this juxtaposition: For several coaching searches Dan Snyder would run these searches and do a lot of this on his own with Vinny or Bruce. Today Harris has assembled a group including Myers, Spielman, Magic Johnson and others to help find his guy. |

@BurgundyBlog
According to @Schultz_Report "Bob Myers has already reached out to agent Don Yee about Harbaugh." |

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Even if they don't actually hire him...I do like that they are reaching out. Leave no stone unturned...

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Good point from JP:
@JPFinlayNBCS That Josh Harris and the Commanders were able to announce Bob Myers and Rick Spielman as advisors this morning means those guys have already been working on this for sometime. Love that the new ownership is proactive and not reactionary.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Yeah, it's kinda interesting that they are already putting in requests to interview coaches for the head coach position prior to hiring a GM.. It is possible they are exploring the idea of partnering GM and head coach based on mutual interests (i.e., Lynch and Kyle S.).

@jjones9
The Commanders aren't wasting time. In addition to head-coaching requests, they have also requested permission to interview Browns AGM Glenn Cook for their new head of football operations, source says. |

@John_Keim
Washington has asked for permission to talk to Bears asst GM Ian Cunningham , source confirms. Josh Harris met briefly with Cunningham at the accelerator program during the owners meetings last month. @RapSheet first. |

Statement from Ron. Very classy - this is why you show courtesy as an organization. When was the last time you had a coach say this on his way out the door?
