Pass pro - I dont think its as simple as blaming the O line. They played above expectations when Case was in there getting the ball out on time on 3-5 step drops. Half the sacks yesterday seemed to be on Haskins not getting the ball out on time (guy not open or he doesnt trust his eyes yet?).

Haskins has the ability to slide protections, check out of plays etc so idk honestly. They had 6 sacks yesterday?

Not saying Haskins doesn’t have alot to learn, but he is a rookie, with what two starts? This staff and that o line....has no excuse. They stink. Lol.

Re: The Haskins Threat

Not sure if anyone caught Total Access but Michael Robinson pointed out a few plays Sun where guys were wide open but Haskins basically pre determined where he was throwing the ball. Said he is fine if read 1 is open, but pre and post snap is different. Hope we see some improvement next week. Lions really struggled last week on d.

they struggled vs a loaded offense and a seasoned QB, you can't expect Dwayne to put up big numbers this yr, he doesn't have the help nor did Keenum

Basic rookie growing pains. Luck changed the narrative here but every rookie will have foundational skills they struggle with, good coaches and teams can mask that. I hope we see tremendous improvement in that arena in the offseason I am not sure a lame duck coaching staff is the group that will work on/fix that

Re: The Haskins Threat

2 starts and people are writing him off... smh

He's definitely a project, his development is going to depend on getting the right people around him to coach him up.

This was the first play that really impressed me with Haskins. Small sample size but I really hope he's the last qb we're going to have to need for the next decade.

That’s a Mahomes type of throw

Problem is he has the rookie adjusting to NFL defenses growing pains along with having issues with poor fundamentals. He has a lot of catching up to do.

Which is why I wanted him to sit until he was ready. You don't need to be in the game to learn fundamentals. A year of practice reps wouldn't have hurt him.

Moot point now though, we've thrown the kid to the wolves. Hope he swims instead of sinks.

Good read about why it's not smart to judge a qb after 2 starts.

I’ve mentioned this throw several times including in the game day thread when it happened. I was sitting right down there where McLaurin wound up. Got called back but that was an eye opener for sure. Unbelievable throw.
I could watch this over n over. Lol.

I think we see that practice reps were insignificant compared to letting him take first team reps. I do think the coaching staff from Gruden to Callahan to KOC should have set a public date of the Jets game from the very beginning, and given him something to work towards. Callahan definitely should have when he took over.

Re: The Haskins Threat

He had a few big time throws , and that one to Terry was special! Also as I mentioned, he had his highest graded game when he actually had time to prepare.
