It’s the winning percentage of all 17 teams on your schedule up to the current week it doesn’t forecast future weeks into the formula

Agree. I'd be pissed if we drafted him or any other QB at #3.

I'd be perfectly fine if they drafted a QB at 3 or 4.

Pork is just in denial, he’s actually wanting a QB at 3 but he is scared that pick will be a bust so he wants to take the safe pick with OT… But in reality no pick is really safe, they are all gambles so take the QB hahaha

OT can be a bust just as much as QBs can.

J Daniels is listed at 6'4", 210.

L Jackson is listed at 6'2", 216.

If that is correct, I don't get why some are worried about JD's size.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

I think if you look at those numbers he is a bit thin rather than anything else, so from that perspective he may have trouble holding up to the rigors of the NFL game, especially as running is a part of Daniels game.

This team will take a couple of years to fix after what Ron has done, drafting a QB right now might not be the answer.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Given remaining games etc. I think the draft order is unlikely to change so its now very possible that Maye is there at 3, assuming Bears grab Williams and Cards take Harrison. Given their needs this makes total sense. But then there's a few wildcards. While there are other teams with a need at QB that could trade up, the Pats are most capable of swapping picks with the Cards and likely to have a new HC looking to make a splash. Do we talk to the Cards to head this off? Are we so desperate to grab Maye we blow up our own draft?

I actually doubt, barring a stupid offer, either the Bears or Cards trade. Even if they were to trade back with the Pats, there's no guarantee who they want is there as we could then take Harrison. So most likely everyone in the top 3 holds onto their positions and its Williams, Harrison and Maye. Then the Pats reach for Daniels and they're back to square one at QB.

I can live with Maye @ #3, but trading up even if an option, would be folly given the talent that would be available regardless of the top 2 picks, and our needs.

It normally ends up that one or even two teams will offer stupid amounts in trade to get the QBs, no matter how much the top two like MHJ or Fashanu they will not be able to say no. We may even get some offers at #3 for Daniels and if MHJ is still there. I wouldn't mind if we took Maye, but I would rather not trade up, and only trade down 2 to 3 spots if at all to ensure we get a desperately needed blue chip player.

Agree. If the Pats trade up to get Maye with the #2 pick, I'd consider offers for #3 from whoever is at 5, 6 or even 7. Good chance we still get one of the top 2 LT's given someone will reach for Daniels in the top 5. But if Harrison falls to us it would probably be folly to not take him.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

49ers losing and Eagles winning have done us a favour in draft position. Neither will be resting players next 2 weeks, chasing that HFA. Can't see us picking other than 3rd now. Cards and Panthers unlikely to win another so...

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Caleb Williams is THE PRIZE of this draft. I think Chicago would be foolish to pass on him with the 1st pick and trade down, so I'm assuming that he will not be available to us in any draft scenario.

The next best QB who might be available to us, if he declares for the draft, is Shedeur Sanders. I would feel confident in taking him but there would be a number of other teams trying to find a way to get him.

I see Maye as a taller, longer Sam Howell. If that what you want, fine. Rather than draft Maye I'd prefer to wait on Sam as he gets better and draft the second best player in the draft, true #1 WR Marvin Harrison, Jr.

My choice as second-best QB prospect currently in this draft is Jayden Daniels. If I could, I'd snag Harrison, Jr with our first pick and then trade back up into the first round to take Daniels. That is, if Sanders doesn't enter the draft. If he does, I'd have to re-think my plan.

In preparation for the draft, I would trade Jon Allen for at least a 2nd round pick in this year's draft and sign a couple of above average OL in free agency.

He's gained some weight this year Daniels that is and Lamar said himself he's closer to 224-230 this year. Daniels is just slightly built so he will.have to gain about 10 lbs or so
