Re: Around the NFL Div. Round Playoffs

Wilson is a solid QB that plays on a very good team, still early in his career. I don't think anyone has said he's elite QB. He impacts the game in ways that doesn't show up in the stat sheet and not much is asked of him in the passing game, just like RG3 in 2012.

LOL, I guess RG3 v2012 was like the second coming of MV in his ATL days huh? Sometimes I'm embarrassed to root for the same team as some people here, this is definitely one of those days.

Peyton getting another ring might shrink the monkey on his back.

Yeah if that was Griff, most here would say he's a choker like Romo, but luck is great... Gets annoying.

And yes quake 101 yards passing is ballin, he carried the team like always duh

Well yeah, since he puts them in a hole to begin with. Kinda easy to keep a low profile in bumfuck Indy. If he was in a major market he might have a little more heat. 7 INTs is flat out bad. Griffin threw 12 all year and all we hear is how much he struggled.

One thing I'll say about luck is he's the least talked about out of the young guns, but yeah he needs to lower those ints in the future.

Every one talks about him. Everyday he was talked about like he was Peyton Manning after the Kansas City game.

I agree with this. I will say this about Luck though. He's maintained that low profile by not only the market he plays in, but the decisions he made early on. He made a point not to do a bunch of endorsements and commercials until a later time.

Andrew Luck explains why he does fewer ads than RG3 - NFL.com

Quote:
"I really didn't have much time," he said. "And I wanted to make sure I had time to handle the stuff that mattered, whether it was moving into an apartment, finishing school or learning the playbook. There was so much going on, I figured the less time I spent promoting myself or doing ads, the better for me. I figured I'd wait and hopefully, at some point, a big fish will come along.'

"And really, to each his own. I don't necessarily think my way is the right way. It's what's best for each person. It's fun to see Robert capitalizing on his situation."

The rookie wage scale lowered Luck's first contract, but it's not like the guy is starving.

"I'm living fine right now," he said. "I'll focus now on football, and maybe after the season is over, we'll pursue some other opportunities, maybe something in the Silicon Valley. But for now, the time isn't right."

It would behoove RGIII to follow Luck's lead on this.

Why? Robert puts in a ton of time, no one has accused him of not knowing the playbook. He got married, rehabbed, did his commercials and was still statistically a good season after coming off a major injury. Its silly to me to think that a couple hours or days a year on commercial shoots impacts a player's ability to perform on the field.

It's in reference to keeping a low profile. Luck chose to go that route and RGIII hasn't. Well, when you want the spotlight, expect that light to burn you when things go wrong. With the media shit storm DC has, he would be better off going to Luck route.

He doesn't help himself out by making that target on his back even bigger than what it would be if he didn't do any branding. In the story today, he responded to a fan about how he didn't want the media attention. Well, if he didn't want the media attention.....WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU DRAWING ATTENTION TO YOURSELF VIA COMMERCIALS AND MARKETING????

Robert Griffin III of Washington Redskins responds to critics on Facebook post - ESPN

If he doesn't want that kind of publicity, then he needs to take a route with a lower profile. It's going to be bad enough with DC media as it is, why make it that much worse?

For the record, I understand Robert gets the raw deal when it comes to the media, and it's often not fair. That said, he needs to minimize what ammo and fuel he gives them.

I like how Luck conveniently never mentions that advertisers simply weren't as interested in him.

Also, for the record, the Colts also sold those QB Showdown t-shirts as well

People love stats around here...lol.

I agree, from everything we here, he's a hard worker. But he really is starting to dig a hole for himself.
