Watson. W/L: 31-29/1-2 playoffs

Cmp%: 67.0
Yds: 15,641
Avg: 8.2
TDs: 111
INTs: 41
Rtg: 102.3

Lamar W/L: 49-21/1-3 playoffs
Cmp/Att: 1055/1655
Cmp%: 63.7
Yds: 12,209
Avg: 7.4
TDs: 101
INTs: 38

I don't think anyone would deny his effectiveness - when he's available. The NFL is a what have you done for me lately league, and Lamar has lost too much time to injury to warrant guarantees like he expects. Wherever he's playing next season, he'll get well paid, but he won't get the guaranteed money he's asking for.

watson money + 2 first round picks is a LOT more than just watson money. I don't think you need to collusion to explain away the lack of contracts.

Also, injury history, also watson deal was bad (from an owner's perspective), also self-representation is potentially a really bad idea (it's a great way to get butthurt when a team tells you why you're not worth what you think you are, and it can be an issue not having someone you trust there to convince you about what would be a good deal).

I see Watson’s numbers as a fair bit better. In 10 fewer games, he’s thrown for 3000 more yards, 10 more tds, has a better completion %, although slightly more picks. Watson may be a crap human being whereas Lamar just seems (at best) naive. But just looking at numbers, Lamar can’t really say he’s better or even on par.

This keeps getting uglier.

I can't see him going back to BAL at this point.

At the very least I'd call them and see what they want

I have a feeling that Denver is going to be moving on from Russ by next offseason. Sounds like Payton is really not on board with him.

@MaseDenver
Sean Payton, on Jarrett Stidham: “We feel like he can become an NFL starter.” Says he’s “smart.” Adds that “quietly, that was an important signing for us.”

So much for the Baltimore org handling everything so well. This is your biggest star since Ray Lewis and you got him posting shit like this

Yeah, I don't get their logic here. Are they really going to roll with Tyler Huntley, while their division rivals all have established QBs? Not to mention the crazy talent at QB within the AFC.

The Ravens are lucky they have their org reputation. If this was a team like ours or the Texans or Jets or any other maligned team, people would be slamming them about their handling of this situation.

From the article:
$133 million guaranteed at signing, $175 million guaranteed for injury and $200 million in total guarantees if he's on the roster on the fifth day of the 2026 league year.

I can't imagine turning down that contract. Seems crazy to me.

They bolstered the article since i post the link.

At this point LJ looks like the bad guy but that is kind of how it always plays out between player and franchise. franchisee needles LJ behind the scenes and LJ lashes out and can only do so publicly. Who knows...

Not having a agent is not helping LJ right now at all

Any owner paying a QB(including Mahomes) 200+ million fucked this up, make no mistake.

Yeah as those QB's just mentioned could be deadly during the playoffs. If their teams were the whole entire package.

Re: Around the NFL - 2023 Offseason Thread

There are reports that Patriots are considering trading Mac Jones since Belichick isn't happy with him. I personally like Howell and hope he will be our future QB but I wouldn't oppose the idea of giving up a 2nd round pick or something like that for Jones since he has proved that he can play.

I'm gonna do a super-hard pass on Mac Jones.
