Re: QB or BPA for our #1 Draft Pick - 2020

I admittedly am just taking the talking heads word for it that Chase Young will be "better than both Bosas". I dont watch a lot of college ball and when I did to specifically watch Young, he wasnt impactful. I watched like 2 games so small sample size.

BUT .. his speed and get off is undeniably fast. I though maybe he might be to small to play end all 3 downs and hold the edge but then hes listed like 6'5" 260 lbs. Thats plenty big enough to play the end in the NFL imo.

Bowl game he was a half second or finger tip away from getting to the QB so many times.

His first step may be the quickest in the NFL once he gets there. I take him at 2 and dont look back.

In the following highlight clip, at the 4:28 to 4:36 mark, he avoids blocking during a fumble return and the guy he doesn't block is part of the tackle. How does that fit with the aggression you would expect from him in the same instance on our team?

That is pretty embarrassing but I'm still taking him. You can coach him up to block on fumble returns, you can't coach athletic ability, which he has in spades.

The only questions I have are about his attitude and outlook. Is he gonna be one of those guys who skates by on athletic ability and never lives up to their full potential? Or will he be a talented headcase because his shit doesn't stink? Only way I'm not taking him is if he won't buy into the system because he thinks his way is better.

He’s ours, don’t fuck it up and trade down.

I would trade down if the Bengals passed on Joe Burrow and we got rid of the #2 for a kings ransom. I like Chase Young but one player isn't going to make or break the defense.

Burrow at 1 and Young at 2 are lead pipe locks

That's what I think, as well. The Bengals may have Young rated a bit higher than Burrow, but they must take the elite QB in their circumstances. As for the Skins, you're looking at the best player in the draft who plays a high impact position sitting there for the taking. It's a no brainer. Come on down Chase Young!

CRed, stop overthinking brother. You’re very smart but have a drink and unplug your brain.

I agree (1st post and I'm from the UK, go easy on me!)

I don't watch any college football but everybody keeps telling me Young is the best baller in the draft. Add him to Sweat, Kerrigan (if he stays) Allen, Ionnidis, Payne and Holcomb and it really is a no brainer. Then add the fact he/they are going to be coached by JDR and Rivera and WOW! The future looks very exciting.

Re: QB or BPA for our #1 Draft Pick - 2020

If my memory serves me correctly Jadeveon Clowney came with the same hype that Chase Young has and his stock even went up after the combine. I still am for trading down if the price is right. There is no such thing as a can't miss pick. The Redskins have too many holes to fill, the more picks the better.
