Re: JC is not what I thought.
Just like last week, I don't think you can tell much about how JC will turn out until he can do this consistently. NO defense is average at best and were definitely getting worn out come the fourth quarter. The running game was great and helped JC alot. JC looked alot more comfortable but the reality is we settled for way too many FG attempts inside the 20 and that needs to change. He also got lucky on the bomb to Moss in the 4th. The ball was underthrown and against a good corner/safety would have probably been picked off and we would be having a different conversation now. I did like that he made the throw thou, even thou Moss was so wide open that it was a no brainer to throw it. It was good to see Moss having a great game.

Re: JC is not what I thought.
Too much credit at one time. I want to see him perform well week in and week out. Even Vick had a 300 yard game (or pretty close to it) once. He tore apart a decimated secondary and defense. The true test is consistently playing well against solid defenses.

Re: JC is not what I thought.
Just as a point of information, it is Campbell's third 300 yard game in 22 starts. Don't get the Vick comparison, I can think of only one thing the two players have in common and it doesn't pertain to football. If you want to go negative, you should say "Patrick Ramsey had three 300 yard games as a Redskin too."

Re: JC is not what I thought.
Seriously. That was a PERFECT pass that couldn't have been placed better.

Go back and look, Moss has to slow down to catch it. If the back wasn't burned so badly by Moss he could have knocked it down and came close to doing that anyway.

I'm agreeing with Matty on this one. That ball was perfect. There was one to Randel El earlier in the game that JC messed up on, but not the one to Moss, nor the ones to Cooley. He was doing very well and was the most accurate I've ever seen him.

And you finish with a classic glass is half empty post. Well, in Campbell's last 6 starts he's hit the 300 yd mark 3 times. In addition to NO, who spent a lot of money to upgrade what you call an "average" defense, Campbell also hit Dallas and Tampa for three bills. Not sure you can say either of those two are average, considering both were playoff teams last year. |

Re: JC is not what I thought.
I think you can tell more about JC from the NO game, than from the NYG game.
The Haters were saying JC doesn't have the skills to play, because he didn't show any skills in the NYG game (among others). The Kool-aiders are saying he does have the skills, and he showed them in the NO game (among others). Bottom line: great QBs have poor games more often than terrible QBs have good ones. Anybody seen Peyton Manning this year?

I was not trying to get technical with the stats. The Vick reference was in regard to his one great passing game that came in his last season of play. Whoop de do, Campbell has had three. Now do it again, and again, and again. I want to see consistency is my point, not the idea that I was trying to be negative towards JC. |

And I think the reason for all the celebration is because in week 1 our offense looked like it should be playing lower division flag football and now they actually look professional grade. No one is calling for Campbell to be a Pro Bowler, but he did look like a professional qb, even outplayed Brees. So that is to be applauded, don't ya think? |
