Re: JC is not what I thought.

Just like last week, I don't think you can tell much about how JC will turn out until he can do this consistently. NO defense is average at best and were definitely getting worn out come the fourth quarter. The running game was great and helped JC alot. JC looked alot more comfortable but the reality is we settled for way too many FG attempts inside the 20 and that needs to change. He also got lucky on the bomb to Moss in the 4th. The ball was underthrown and against a good corner/safety would have probably been picked off and we would be having a different conversation now. I did like that he made the throw thou, even thou Moss was so wide open that it was a no brainer to throw it. It was good to see Moss having a great game.

Too much credit at one time. I want to see him perform well week in and week out. Even Vick had a 300 yard game (or pretty close to it) once. He tore apart a decimated secondary and defense. The true test is consistently playing well against solid defenses.

Just as a point of information, it is Campbell's third 300 yard game in 22 starts. Don't get the Vick comparison, I can think of only one thing the two players have in common and it doesn't pertain to football. If you want to go negative, you should say "Patrick Ramsey had three 300 yard games as a Redskin too."

Not sure what game you were watching but I saw a well thrown ball that hit Moss in stride. Underthrown?? Really?

Seriously. That was a PERFECT pass that couldn't have been placed better.

Go back and look, Moss has to slow down to catch it. If the back wasn't burned so badly by Moss he could have knocked it down and came close to doing that anyway.

I thought the same thing when I read that. I even went back and watched the throw again. If it was a bit short you might have excused it since he got instant pressure right up the middle (luckily Sellers got a piece of the guy) but the ball was not short at all. I too don't know what game he was watching. Maybe he was checking out the New England game where Matt Cassel underthrew Randy Moss even though he was 15 yards behind Revis, holding Randy Moss to only two fantasy points

I'm agreeing with Matty on this one. That ball was perfect. There was one to Randel El earlier in the game that JC messed up on, but not the one to Moss, nor the ones to Cooley. He was doing very well and was the most accurate I've ever seen him.

I kind of agree with you here. But considering he took too much heat last week, why don't we go ahead and give him too much credit to even things out. Fact is people were questioning if he had what it takes, well yesterday he showed that he has what it takes.

And you finish with a classic glass is half empty post. Well, in Campbell's last 6 starts he's hit the 300 yd mark 3 times. In addition to NO, who spent a lot of money to upgrade what you call an "average" defense, Campbell also hit Dallas and Tampa for three bills. Not sure you can say either of those two are average, considering both were playoff teams last year.

Re: JC is not what I thought.

I think you can tell more about JC from the NO game, than from the NYG game.

The Haters were saying JC doesn't have the skills to play, because he didn't show any skills in the NYG game (among others).

The Kool-aiders are saying he does have the skills, and he showed them in the NO game (among others).

Bottom line: great QBs have poor games more often than terrible QBs have good ones. Anybody seen Peyton Manning this year?

All I was saying is that he has, all of a sudden, went from zero to hero in less than 3 hours based on one performance. Campbell is flashy, but he has not done it week in and week out yet. Believe me I want to see him do it.

I was not trying to get technical with the stats. The Vick reference was in regard to his one great passing game that came in his last season of play. Whoop de do, Campbell has had three.

Now do it again, and again, and again. I want to see consistency is my point, not the idea that I was trying to be negative towards JC.

I dont drink koolaid and i say he has the skills. I think he showed them the best he could in both games. He is on the cusp the place where most qbs cant take that leap. We just have to give him our support and believe in him. That will go a long way

Campbell is not Vick. He showed that when he tried to scramble and got tripped up by the blade of grass that grew during his rollout. I agree with the poster who said a better negative reference for the 300 yd game is Ramsey.

And I think the reason for all the celebration is because in week 1 our offense looked like it should be playing lower division flag football and now they actually look professional grade. No one is calling for Campbell to be a Pro Bowler, but he did look like a professional qb, even outplayed Brees. So that is to be applauded, don't ya think?

Dude be happy he is not vick. Still he is a great athelete and proved that by all the work he did in the pocket to make certain plays happen. The ability to move and not be a rock in the pocket is invaluable in todays nfl. Saying he tripped up on blades of grass? Cmon man. Support your qb. Lets cheer him on as he gets better and better.

For fuck sake I never said he was Vick. I was making a reference to his passing woes. Thats all.

GOOD JOB CAMPBELL

NOW DO IT NEXT WEEK!
