Re: On The Bright Side

The coaching sucked and the team has no heart.
The only positives I can think of are:
Now they can afford to give Campbell a look.
They're looking at a pretty decent draft choice.

Some bright things today

I'm trying to focus on the positives, so if you have any, post them in here. One thing i noticed was Carlos Rogers. It looked like he really stepped up today. After Walt Harris gave up a 14 yard reception, G.W. pulled him and put in Carlos Rogers more. I think now is the time to give Rogers that #2 corner spot, because even though i saw some rookie mistakes today, he certainly is better than Walt Harris. On the negative side, all i saw of Walt Harris today was missing tackles and giving up first downs to receivers. His interception was pretty much a luck play, anyone from the Chargers could've just jumped up and caught it as easily as Harris did. I heard from the t.v. guy at one point that Walt was in as the fifth cornerback.

on a side note, guess who's been arrested for drug paraphenelia. None other than Michael Irvin. that made my day a little easier to take.

I'm going to merge this with a similar thread already in progress

Griffin is back....that's a huge plus. Hopefully, he'll be more fully healed next week and ready to face-plant whatever quarterback is playing for the Rams.

Re: On The Bright Side

Irvin is just getting his name out more to increase his chance for the HoF.

It hurt to see us lose these close games this year. Lets hope next year we will turn those arond and win those games. We have a chance to play spoiler towards the end of the season by knocking out New York or Dallas out of the playoff race. If we beat Dallas again I would almost consider that a good season.

If we lost every game, but swept the Cowboys and kept them out of the playoffs, I would consider that an EXCELLENT season. Seriously.

Amen Brother. You have to admit, that the win over Cowboys was the most exuberiant feeling you had felt in a loooooooooooooooooooong time. I watched NFL Network replay all week. It took something out of the Cowboys after that loss and they barely beat the 49ers by 3 points. Now if we sweep those bastards at FedEx field it will be the kind of bragging rights I have hoped for about 10 seasons. In fact when was the last time we sweap Dallas?

Re: On The Bright Side

with the giants loss today there really was no change in our standings. the sea hawks dont effect the wild card at all they already have their devision won and the chardgers are and afc team. The score is now set to about the same as it was going into this week. Next week either the giants or the cowboys have to lose and we should win giving us gorund to build on. 2nd place in the devision will most likely get a wild card. we just ahve to hope for the team that loses next weekend to lose again the week after that and then we are basically back in it. if the guants ahd won today i would not think there would be a chance in hell of the playoffs

Re: On The Bright Side

I thought Carlos Rogers played great after they pulled Harris. Brunell is afraid to throw the ball. There is always open receivers, the Brunell hesitates and then throws it away. Royal blows. I thought Jacobs played pretty well. The offense(mostly royal, and some brunell) definitely lost us that game. The defense got three turnovers and the offense couldn't get a single point off of them.

Re: On The Bright Side

I also thought Taylor Jacobs looked good today. Not hugely impressive stat-wise, but he made some key catches to help drives. I really believe that once he gets some starts under his belt, he can be a good possession receiver for us.

Re: On The Bright Side

It was great to see Rogers play well.

Honestly, guys, we played pretty good football today against one of the better teams in the league. We didn't come out on top, but make just a few more plays, and we would have. We are becoming a team no one likes to play, and a team that can beat anyone anyday. There's a bright spot for ya.
