this was part of the latest story from the online washington post:

"If the Redskins don't trade up from the fifth pick and Manning, Gallery, Fitzgerald and Roethlisberger or Williams are off the board, they probably would be left choosing between a trade-down or picking Taylor or his former Hurricanes teammate, Kellen Winslow Jr. The team's bigger needs appear to be on defense at this point. But Winslow is a special talent. And the agent, while saying he wasn't certain which player the Redskins would take if faced with a choice between Taylor and Winslow, said the negative publicity focused recently on Winslow's tough-negotiating representatives, brothers Carl and Kevin Poston, would negate the need to pass up Winslow because of any concerns that he might be difficult to sign.

"It's a no-risk pick,'' the agent said. "Those guys have got to make that a smooth negotiation. They're under the gun.'' "

think this could be true?

I sure hope so! The Postons need to get a friggin grip.

Is it true that KW II was trouble in the locker room? I didn't follow Miami too much (sorry Skinsncanes!), but I know it's a rowdy place. Did he do anything out of the ordinary?

Winslow was a presence in the lockerroom, an emotional team leader. He only had an attitude problem during one or two press conferences. I know what was said but I dont know if they were in seperate conferences or the same one. He plays with emotion and passion, hes not some headache thats got a crimial record liek a lot of players out there. He spoke badly about his QB(which he didnt need to do because everyone already knew he sucked), and when asked about how he injured a player becuase of how hard he blocks he made some comment about how its war out there and somethign about being a soldier.

The Canes have tough coaches, and the players all respect them. All the Canes emotion and attitude is on the field. They are confident in their abilities and think they are the best and cant lose. Winslow wants teh ball if the game is on the line, but if the call is for him to block then he knocks the guy on his ass. I dont think we will have any trouble from our players, we have teh biggest and possibly best coaching staff in the league.

The Redskins should draft Shawn Taylor. There's a reason everyone has him touted as the top defensive player in the draft. The kid's a difference maker. He can hit, run, and force turnovers. He was amazing when he played for the U (my top choice of transfer schools, btw) and he even left early. He's a great player and many ESPN analysts have said that he and Gallery are neck and neck as to who is the most NFL ready player. I think Kellen Winslow is one hell of a tight end, but I don't think he will have the impact of Sean Taylor. Even if Winslow II turns out to be great that means he'll probably ring up 800 yards and about 6 TD's in a good year at TE, I think Sean Taylor is a better choice. I'd rather have Roy Williams than Tony Gonzalez or punk ass Jeremy Shockey.

Id rather have shockey than Williams. Shockey will definitly be a bigger headache then Winslow but even with his mouse he is dominant on the field. Shockey catches teh ball and then runs over players. Thens there the whole thing about Roy being a cowboy, his tainted goods. Atleast Shockey was a Cane, but I still wotn root for him anymore.
