I do agree with the guy being a beast. but if I had a choice I would take a DE, maybe a corner for some depth since the injury bug seems to be hitting our DBs.
I didn't know he was that big, boy him and Dockery at the guards spots would be pretty nice, although Thomas isn't my any means a small guy.

Re: NFL Trade Deadline Next Week

We had two big weakness' at MLB and a SS this last Sunday.
On a couple of those long runs against the Broncos Matt Bowen and Lemar Marshall missed on some routine tackles. I would not be surprised if Pierson Prioleau is not brought back to start at SS soon.

An extra guard would be a luxory we do not need. At these two other positions we need more talent.

I'm pretty much with the masses on this one - Dockery is solid, and will probably get better as the season goes on. I don't remember one holding or ill. motion penalty on him during the pre-season, and nothing really sticks out in my mind thru the first four.

He's really cut down drastically on the mental errors. So were set there.

D-line and secondary depth.

holdman totally whiffed on an easy tackle that allowed the first run. the second run was blocked much better and both marshall and bowen were a bit late to make the play.

Yeah, Bowen's angle was way to direct. He should have given up a ten yard gain and taken a more rounded angle, rather than his aggresive angle which left no room for mistake and he missed the takle and gave up a long TD run. He should have contained rather than trying to take the guys head off.

Re: NFL Trade Deadline Next Week

I areee we need D line help more than any other position on the team right now. Another front line OL coming in at this time would be a luxary we do not need, nor can we afford, nor is there a place for him to fit in at this time.

Maybe another CB could be useful since we're so thin there, but DL is what we've needed for a while (espically one that can rush the passer) though they're so hard to come by at what we would consider a reasonable price.

"The Chargers sent Fonoti to Minnesota for a seventh-round draft pick in 2006, which will be upgraded to a sixth-rounder if Fonoti dresses for six games or starts three games."

Man, I think this kid is worth a 6th rounder. We need O-line depth. Did anyone else's ass pucker when Rabach went down and Cory Raymer came in?

Raymer is a serviceable backup, would I want him starting again? No way.

Re: NFL Trade Deadline Next Week

I have a feeling that Marty in San Diego wanted into the trade market this year after hitting it big with McCardell last year. The QB trade was nothing more than going for the draft pick - Feeley won't be on their roster next year even if Rivers (or Brees) gets traded. Basically, the Chargers picked up two 6th round picks.

Re: NFL Trade Deadline Next Week

Isn't the reason you have backups, is in case of injury, meaning if Raybach's ankle would have been broken Raymer would be our new starter.

I would have sent them a 6th rounder for him. We don't even have our 6th rounder from last year on the team anymore.

Re: NFL Trade Deadline Next Week

the only trade I would like to have seen would of been Ramsey to the Cardinals for one of there corners (Eric green), plus a conditional pick later if Ramsey did anything with them.

Re: NFL Trade Deadline Next Week

Should be interesting to see what the Chargers do at QB next year. Do they stick with the proven vet in Brees who has proved to be a very good QB for them, or hand things over to the younger Rivers?
