Re: New Madden

Im not going to turn it off, I want to learn the new way of playing. I wanted a challenge and boy did they give me one. I havent played it much. I had it on the defaul difficutly. Which translates to me always winning, but only because of the running game.

Im surprised no one has said anything about the defensive controls being different. Its driving me nuts. I was so used to the old way. I keep hitting the wrong button to sprint/switch players. I prefered X as the button that switches you to the closest player becuase I would use it on kick offs and immedialy hit the hit stick. And its easier to go from X to R than O to R. (For PS2)

Re: New Madden

I played it 3 times last night (After the Angels pounded the Athletics ) and won them all.
I beat the Cowboys ,Steelers and the Giants. Are D kicks ass. And I did get some big plays out of Moss. Gardner (drop it like it hot) made some plays as well. I like how you can change the direction of the run before the snap. But the passing cones will take some time to get used to. I had 3 pic's all when I tried to throw outside the passing cone. I think by next week I should be pretty good at it. #47 triangle other wise known as Chris Cooley came up huge on goal line and short yardage he scored 4 td's! (player of the game againts the G-men). I must say the hot route feature is pretty sweet as well.
So far I would give the game an A.

Yeah, at first I didn't know if it was just me being used to playing ESPN 2k5, because I had recently played both that and Madden 05. I still Keep switching players when I want to sprint. That kind of throws me off. But I'll get used to it. Hopefully I can get LIVE set up within the next month or so.

I never played madden on XBOX because I got stupid direcway and it uploads at like 28.8. But when I had a cable modem I played ESPN 2k4 on there and if i played enough games I was usually in the top 10-20 out of 20,000+. I don't know how that'll relate to madden, especially with over 100,000 players, but I'm excited to find out. Its hard to get people I know to sit down and play with me.

Re: New Madden

i just finished a game with a qb rating of 1.7. I went like 1 for 11 with 1 int for the game. I have like 150 rushing yards though and lost 13 to 7

Re: New Madden

Locking onto a WR is easy before the snap, as is viewing the middle of the field, but it seems they could have made moving the QB's vision left to right a lot faster.

Re: New Madden

i'm enjoyin the new vision cone thing. it presents a challenge, and it makes the game more realistic because that's how quarterbacks have it in real life. it took some time to get used to, but i'm loving it.

Re: New Madden

I thought the theme for Madden '06 was "The Year of the Quarterback"? Running game is good and defense is great. Finally defensive pass interference! Am I the only one hwo has jumped right into All-Madden mode? Not completing a lot a passes and throwing some really erratic ones. Buttons have changed on defense (XBox) although you can go to controller select and change 'em to Madden '05 (one quirk), NFL Street (why?), or "Hardcore" (whatever that means). Where's playmaker when running or returning punts/kicks, or scrambling with the QB? Animations are as tight as ever. Lots of details. I'm impressed.

Jason Campbell, Lemar Marshall, Matt Bowen and Carlos Rodgers play better than I expected. Any one notice that Cooley has a 81 rating as FB versus 78(?) as TE? Antonio Brown is a free agent. 4-3 defense doesn't include 3-4 sets at all, but does include 3-2-6 formation which is very effective. Culpepper, Farve, and P. Manning 'see' the field better than any other QBs. I don't want to put this down.

Have you played with or against him yet? It doesn't matter what we think. If I remember correctly his 'cone' was relatively wide. And just because this is the case doesn't mean he's a better QB than others who have otherwise. As much as the game is control overloaded, It great!
