Re: Redskins Axe Morton
Oh well, it wasn't anything unexpected. The JetSkins experiment is over. Now we're going on the BearSkins with Harris, Daniels, and possibly McQuarters.

Re: Redskins Axe Morton
Bringing Morton here was an expenditure of arrogance and power. Morton is too small to be a good running back. He's no Joe Morris. He is really fast when healthy, but bring him to Washington was a dumb move and a waste of money. He's a KR. I wish him luck elsewhere, but he did virtually nothing last season before his injury. I tend to think that if he doesn't give you great value elsewhere then he's probably expendable. I was bummed when we signed him. Not because of him, but because we had more pressing needs. I'm glad to see the cap space with him being released. He's a good player, with good hands, lotsa speed and a good heart. He never fit as a Redskin. Mike Nelms that's a return man. I bet Morton even had a higher return avg than Nelms. But Nelms rarely went outta bounds without fiting for another yard...
KR's are overrated. The blocking makes it possible MOST of the time! Don't let the door hit ya in the ass! Goodluck Chad, you will find a team that suits you better soon.

Re: Redskins Axe Morton
Since Morton was released after June 1st, we now have some deadcap for 2006! We have over $16M in 2005, so there's a lot of catching up to do.

Re: Redskins Axe Morton
Bringing in Morton was a knee jerk reaction to our kick return problems. Rather than addressing the problem with coaching and signing a minimum priced guy, we overspent for a need position... as usual when Snyder had too much control over personnel decisions.
Gibbs is cleaning up the mess much like Marty did. |
