Wow... I couldnt disagree with that statement any more.

Rogers will be a starter this year. Flat out. Mark my words, Carlos will destroy Harris in a head to head compitition for that job. If it`s not announced during camp then SHORTLY into the regular season. Oh, and the next 6 to 10 yrs after that too.

Hey, it makes more sense than the Jetskins....we'd be the Bearskins! Daniels, Holdman, and McQuarters - if we could only get the Fridge and Payton.

The next 6 to 10 years, I agree 100%. I'm not saying that he wont be good, or I'm not trying to say he sucks or anything. I watched Auburn alot last year, but dont know a WHOLE ton about the guy. I'm just saying that we cant put be 100% flat out positve that Rogers, a rookie is going to come in and be able to start on an NFL team from day one. That's why I dont mind if we bring some back up to the team, so that he dosent have as much pressure and can easy in a little bit. Nothing against the guy.

We are NOT going to get him for the league minimum...........he is a player! and will demand a little bit of coin, which we might have when we release these players after June 1st (even though we need to sign our rookies etc.......). McQuarters would be a starter right away on the defense! And whoever said you can't have enough cover corners is RIGHT ALL THE WAY!

We all sat and watched as Sean Taylor demonstrated last pre-season that he was one of the best pure defensive talents to come into the league in years. He did everything asked of him and made serious plays, albeit against second stringers but he looked like a man among boys there. And what happened? He didn't even get to start right away! Carlos Rogers will need to have like 5 or 6 interceptions and no completions against him to even be considered to start early. He may start by the end of the year but I wouldn't expect to seem him as anything but our 3rd corner until weeks 4 or 5 at best.

If we get McQuarters, he won't touch the starting lineup until the end of the season. It's hard enough for a rookie to adjust to the NFL, let alone Williams' defense where DBs do just about everything that could be asked of them.

Re: R.W. McQuarters

What about our depth at positions we REALLY need it?

Re: R.W. McQuarters

Read Post and Times articles on McQuarters saying it is likely he would leave with a Contract......I hope we sign him.....!! They say we are looking at starting Walt and Shawn at corner to start the season, but I think this guy might be a better option than Walt.....but thats just me....what do yall think?? I haven't forgotten about Rogers......but I think he might play in dime and nickel situation to start!

Re: R.W. McQuarters

Depth, depth and more depth.

With a D-line that can't be relied upon to generate much pressure on their own, it's critical that Williams has plenty of depth and versatility in his secondary. McQuarters would be a nice sign, plus he can return kicks.

Re: R.W. McQuarters

How old is McQuarters? Could he be a replacement for Springs in the future? Or is Springs young enough to be here a while?

Re: R.W. McQuarters

Oh, thanks. LOL

I didn't know Springs was that young. Sooo anyway, I'll just say "added depth."

Re: R.W. McQuarters

I think that added depth is a very good thing at safety/cb positions. especially considering what happened last year with injuries. having someone that has started both positions (I think he has ???) is a real value. again I'll say I'm excited about this coming season!!

Re: R.W. McQuarters

I like that we have 4 potential starters at CB. It's like having OEM parts for a car. Just plug 'n' play and you're good to go.
