I'm with you, on paper this is a better team than what was on display Thursday.

I'm holding out hope that last thursday was the result of no practice due to injuries, and in general the injury issue.

Which is an awful excuse, but till better than the idea that we're an awful team and only going to win 5 or fewer games this year

I think DC is not a bad sports town, certainly not aweful imo. I think you need to look at the fan experience at the games. I think the Wiz games are pretty decent. Caps I've heard do a great job. Heard Georgetown b ball games best game experience in DC. I havent been to the Nats games, but my same friend said its a good times, but in a shit area.

I can speak to Fed Ex fairly well because Ive been there the most, but not in awhile. Never impressed when I went. Pretty average fan experience. It lacking imo and not worth the ticket or the headache
I had season tix for three years before giving them up. The headache of traffic and the inferior stadium set-up leave a lot to be desired. I don't think the fans are as fickle as people think, but when you are shelling out $200 + for a days experience there is nothing wrong with high expectations of what you will receive. Whenever I see away games the Skins are well represented so that leads me to believe it is the experience that is the problem not loyalty to the team. As for opposing fans? When you fly across country to watch the Seahawks play on Monday night you are expecting to over pay for the experience.

Redskins- Show up to the stadium

Not watching tonight, moved date night with my wife from Wednesday to tonight. She thinks something is wrong with me.

You can back peddle all you want about your excuse now being about work. You clearly came in here originally to post that you turned down tickets because the team is so terrible. I guess you didn't expect to get called out for your shtick. So you can now say you have a legitimate excuse and that you were just running on a stupid shtick, or admit you're a fair weather fan. Doesn't matter to me.

Verizon center is an amazing venue - the fans don't show up when the teams aren't doing too well.

Nats stadium is an incredible stadium and the surrounding area has jack to do with staying for a NL DS game going into extra innings.

The idea that the stadium has to be a nice place is a poor excuse this fan base has built into its rhetoric over the years. I have news for you - RFK was a fucking dump. The problem is the fan base. They don't want to go to the games, they don't want to stay for the games, but they want to demand a new stadium, bitch about the current stadium, etc etc etc.

Our fan base is just a bunch of fair weather fans. Literally and figuratively. It's sad.

These same fans then bitch about how other teams take over our venues (and Verizon center is not immune to this...) It's just laughable to watch.

Seats arent great, lets be honest. Ive sat in the club level, bottom and top. Is the traffic still the worse thing about the place or have they made improvements in the last 5 years? As a sidenote, its funny to me to experience the difference of "treatment" seating Club as opposed to second row from the top. its vast.
I get police escorts, 'cause that's how I roll....

Traffic is awful to and from the stadium

Depends on which way you go

Though prime time games the only good way to go is early

Like - before they open the gates early

But that's a function of the area. The nationals were encouraging their fans to take Metro on Friday for the same reasons... We're one of the worst areas in the country for traffic on a regular business day. Add in 40, or up to 90 with the redskins, thousand people trying to get to a stadium... sucks.

Since everyone will be picking the Seahawks. It will be one of those, they play competive so everyone stays up late, then lose on some stupid penalty or play at the end.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread

Idk, if someone offered me free tickets to tonight's game I probably wouldn't go either. I want the comfort of switching between the Nats and the Redskins, no way I'd get that at the stadium. I'm already going to be tired at work tomorrow anyways, if I went to the game that would only make it worse because of how late I'd get home. I don't think declining free tickets makes someone a fairweather fan, a fairweather fan would be someone who only pays attention when the team is good.

We will win!
Morris will get 46 carries breaking Jamie Morris' NFL and Redskins record.
or he will get 46 yards and we lose...

when i used to go to skins games, i used to be that ahole in the group who demanded to be let out once you hit the standstill traffic near the stadium so i could stand/walk by the car and drink beer while our car inched along.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread

Well, not that stats tell teh whole story, but this is interesting to me in that it suggests that the teams are a lot closer than the doomsayers on this thread (myself included) would have thought: Watch Seattle Seahawks vs. Washington Redskins [10/06/2014] - NFL.com

We have a more potent offense, and defensively we're actually not nearly as far behind as I would have thought, and fare better in 3rd down conversions and (shockingly) pass yards per game.

Having said that, I fear that this is the week where the Seahawks improve on those numbers.

Seahawks: 37 (includes a safety)
Redskins: 19 (we settle for FGs)

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread

^ I would guess the Jax game has inflated some of those defensive stats, whether that was glimpse of potential or playing an inferior opponent is subject to debate.
