Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday

Well, that's it then. If there was any doubt about Shanny being gone after this season, it has been erased.

Since we're going to have a new coach and a new offense next year, I'm, at least, relieved that Kyle won't get any more chances to reinjure RGIII.

As for Kirk's trade value, it could go up or it could go down. I don't care because I want the Redskins to keep him unless they are blown away by a trade offer.

I'm betting that Kirk plays well. Then we'll see what happens.

Adios, Mike.

Damn that reminds me, that means I have to drop Griff from my FF lineup this week. Ugh.

Then he has a higher trade value.

In my opinion, there is 0% chance that Kirk Cousins starts a game for the Redskins beyond this season if he plays well the next three weeks.

So the only player on the team with any value is Griffin, all the rest are expendable

Everyone naturally assumes starting Cousins is for two reasons

1- to keep RG3 healthy
2- to showcase Cousins for trade bait

But what if MS is trying to prove to DS that Cousins is better and can lead this team? If Cousins does well and the team wins.... do we keep MS for the final year, drop the read option, and start Cousins?

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday

We have Atlanta which was a playoff team last yr and not really terrible this year, Dallas, and the Giants left to play.

Again what if: Cousins plays well, looks good in a traditional West Coast Offense, and the team wins all 3 games? would that be good enough reason to keep MS one more yr, start Cousins next yr, and only bring someone new in at DC? Then between the draft and the $36 mill upgrade the OL, WR, and defense side of the ball?

After this 3-ring circus, he not only started, but is ringleading as well? Hell no.

No I only bring it up cause everyone is "trade bait", "trade bait",.... showcase him for the highest draft pick.

I would rather keep Cousins honestly. I'm almost on the fence of saying trade RG3. I know its blasphemy, but what if we find out Cousins can read defenses better, change into the right plays based off of reading the defense, and is as accurate or better. < now what do I mean about accuracy? I see RG3 as accurate with in 20 yrds, beyond though it looks as if he just throws the ball up hoping the WR will go after it. What if Cousins is more accurate with the long ball?

Is there any way possible we fans could rally behind MS again with Cousins starting? All I'm wondering.

At this point, that probably depends more on the trust and confidence that Snyder and Shanahan have in one another than anything else. Remember, these last few games are meaningless for the Skins.

Well I don't think either of those are REALLY the reasons Cousins is starting... I just think those are the two good things that actually come out of this and if you took all the drama aside, I think its a good move for those reasons.

Obviously when you add in all the factors, this is a disaster.

We fans really don't know the whole situation. The media and fan base has made this a 3 ring circus. and what if MS wanted to do this a lot earlier and DS or Allen said no you will play RG3. with nothing to lose why wouldn't you bench the star, and start the back up you wanted all along anyway? If he shines you can say "see I told you so", but if he bombs... oh well you probably were going to get fired anyway.

I hope kirk comes in and we win 3 straight because I want a 2nd round pick for him lol but I don't see us winning more than a game if even one. O well just another sad year for skins nation

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday

My opinion is just whatever at this point. Good thing is RG3 will be healthy next year and this moves assures Shanny will be fired.

Going forward, the QB position is nothing but a strength and the least of my worries.

I dont know if im gonna quit watching Skins football like I did doing the Zorn era, but its on the table. Ill have to watch some of the Cowboys game at least.
