Devestated. I will not forget this game. How do we rebound, have an early bye, and play out this shedule when we drop games to lesser teams? I feel so blindsided by this loss.
Next weeks packer game isn't even being televised in the Bmore area, instead they are showing 'Romeo must die'. FML. |

I'm not THAT worried about him, but I just expected him to be better. Hopefully the game shook off his rust.

So is Griffin's knee still hurt, or is it psychological?
And he was getting killed in the pocket. One of those slams was straight out of WWE. |

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
It looked like RG3 seemed to shake the rust off in the second half, hopefully that carries over to next week. Just a slow start and our defense being the first to be introduced to Chip Kelly's up-tempo offense obviously didn't help. Things to be concerned about for me going forward are the lack of a running game and the back end of our defense.

Philadelphia is going to have a lot more room to overcome mistakes the whole season because they run so many damn plays. As long as Shanny is our coach and Kelly is theirs, we're going to be at a schematic disadvantage. So we needed to take advantage of having a lot more talent than them and try to get Bradley Fletcher and Patrick Chung covering Hankerson & Robinson down the field, we simply didn't do that. Helu is a really good player in the Redskins spread offense concepts. Really strong picking up the blitz. Can win one on ones on the outside as a receiver. If Morris starts like he did tonight, we can roll with Helu and the passing game in the future. Changing the RB was the single best offensive adjustment we made in the game, and allowed us to take advantage of the mismatches we had all over the field. Only problem was, we were too slow with the adjustment.

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
Lack of an effective running play led to the Iggles be all blitz happy.

Ko returns were bad. Rocca shanked a punt. Tackling was horrendous. Hopefully the Cobra got his miss out of the way.

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
Football is a game of momentum. Philly came out hot, and having an unseen novel offense helped them (not to mention good play). But Al's fumble on the first possession and then RGIIIs INT set a tone. Took a while to get out of that funk.
If we lose in GB that sucks, but let's be realistic. That is a tough place to play and GB is a great team coming off a tough loss. Think our safeties will have an easier time with Rodgers? But the next two after that are crucial. We need to get back our proper attitude. We haven't earned the right to take plays off or to think other teams will roll over for us. We are not that good a team (yet). We need to play like underdogs. I think we thought that we're already good. As my old coach used to say, we acted like we thought our sh** didn't stink. It took a 33 point punch in the mouth to wake us up. Glad we put up some points at the end, and maybe it will knock us back to size. We need to play with our back to the wall now! Not wait until we have to win 7 in a row again. (Why does it always have to be Philly on Monday nights? Ugh.)

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
Thompson kept bringing the ball from deep inside the endzone, that was a bit stupid IMO.

But he did start running and his passing was much crisper. Matty called it the tale of two halfs but i say it was the tale of two griffs. He energizes the whole team when he starts doing his thing - gives both sides of the ball hope. Not to mention the fact that ks was being very cautious in his first game back. Griff proved by games end he was able to move and take a hit. Maybe im looking through rose colored glasses but i believe next week Griff will be in MVP form. I think we saw a bit of it tonite and minus a couple bonehead plays and penalties just in the second half he almost led us to victory

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
We can win it if we score points.
Profound, I know, but Rodgers isn't quite the same player he was two years ago, and I think our defense can give them some problems. They're not going to hold GB under 20 points, but if we can get a quick 14 in the first half, I think they'll take them down to the wire.
