At WR I would subtract Stallworth (IMO camp body) and add Hanky.

Although I am a fan of Gomes, realistically I don't think he beats out Doughty.
Thank you sir.

It's actually a great thing to have nearly the entire 53, return and be together for a 2nd straight year. When the biggest question marks are depth players, I think that says a lot about the roster that has been built. It also makes a much less debatable topic

Re: Predict the 2013 53 Man Opening Day Roster

I think Hankerson just barely makes the roster. If he doesn't it will be because of a fellow young talent in Briscoe, not a veteran like Stallworth

I think Jamison starts on the practice squad. It wouldn't surprise me if Helu doesn't make the roster

I think Pugh makes the roster. Gomes doesn't

And so you don't have Carriker making it either then?

The Redskins won't keep 5 RBs. One of your rookies will not make the 53 man roster. Maybe a practice squad spot, but 6 WRs will be kept before 5 RBs will be kept. I mean really all you need is Alfred Morris, Young and your 3rd down/change of pace back. Whither that's Helu or another guy will be determined in August.

I went off the belief Carriker will start on PUP, he would be active after the 6 weeks.

Good point on Jamison.

I really liked what I saw and heard of Bernstein and Pugh. On the other hand, the welcome has worn out for Paul. He's the one guy that has had more than a fair (and healthy) chance to prove his worth but continues to drop the ball. If only he could become a reliable return guy because he's solid covering punts and kicks.

I agree, with the caveat that we had no 1st round pick and no cap room so adding a new instant starter was difficult to do this offseason.

Still, the continuity is a good thing.

I'm sure Jordan Reed can take Paul's spot on the roster, all he has to do is catch the ball and do a decent job blocking.

Hank needs to step up this year.

Easier said than done. He's currently totally inept to terrible at it.

Re: Predict the 2013 53 Man Opening Day Roster

QB (2):
RG3
Kirk Cousins

RB (4):
Alfred Morris
Chris Thompson
Roy Helu
Daryl Young (FB)

WR (6):
Garcon
Morgan
Moss
Hankerson
Robinson
Devery Henderson

TE (3):
Fred Davis
Logan Paulsen
Jordan Reed

OL (9):
Trent
Montgomery (C)
Chester (G)
Lichtensteiger (C/G)
LeRebius (G)
Polumbus (RT)
Gettis (G)
Compton (RT/LT)
Pashos (RT)

24 Offense

DL (7):
Jenkins
Bowen
Cofield
Baker
Brace
Carriker
Golston

LB (8):
Fletcher
Riley
Orakpo
Kerrigan
Brandon Jenkins
Daryl Tapp
Robinson
Kehl
[Rob Jackson makes the team, but is on the suspsended list for the first four games. I think the skins will cut Tapp to make room for Jackson, unless another player is injured by then]

CB (5):
Hall
Biggers
Wilson
Crawford
Amerson

S (5):
Doughty
Phillip Thomas
Rambo
Meriweather
Pugh

Specialists (3)
LS Sundberg
K Forbath
P Rocca

(28 defense)

I'm at 52 players not including the suspended Rob Jackson. I think the 53 player is either Niles Paul or a 3rd QB. I could easily see Shanahan gamble with 2 QBs, even with Griffin coming off an injury, just because Shanahan is confident (or cocky to some) like that. Niles Paul isn't good, but he's versatile (TE/WR/ H-Back/KR/ST standout). I guess gun to my head I think Paul makes it.

So thats my 53

I agree. We became a playoff team partly because we became a strong running team and discovered the strong run blocking from Paulsen and Paul.

Paul makes the team. I think Paul as he has every season, will find another gear and step it up even more this year. The dropped passes will be a thing of the past. LAst year was his first as TE. Give him a chance. He combines athletic skill with punch you in the mouth physical play. Keeper/

No joke, I just checked in to see if anyone made the "predict the 2013 roster thread" so I could get a jump on y'all.

Well played, CRedskinsRule.

Re: Predict the 2013 53 Man Opening Day Roster

It is nice to be confident on about 47-48 spots. Knowing we're generally talking about almost all depth positions is good. Outside of the secondary of course which can only get better...right?

Re: Predict the 2013 53 Man Opening Day Roster

I see both CRR and CultBrennan have either Henderson or Stallworth making the final roster. If they're way better than the UDFA WRs we signed, I'm fine with it. However, I would rather have Dawson or Lewis make the roster, because of age and potential. Whichever of these makes it will most likely be at the bottom of the list for depth anyway, so it really doesn't matter.
