I'd guess most everyone's mocks were blown to shit pretty quickly.

Sure just like cousins was a horrible pick too. Kiper sucks. We got 2 value defenders in this draft something's gonna work I know it. Jordan reed will be a playmaker too well limit his blocking and use him strictly as that mismatch. Shut up Mel.

I think Kiper still thinks Seattle had a terrible draft last year.

Is it possible to draft terribly but get lucky as hell? Not saying that was what Seattle did, I am just curious if people think that it's always FO skill that determines the draft class' ultimate grade, or can bad drafters luck into good draft classes?

Well to be honest you do see bad teams consistently draft poorly and they rarely turn out any good players besides their 1st round pick (Raiders, Bills, and Cardinals). I think coaching has a lot to do with how a player will turn out as well. It's extremely hard to say a team had a bad draft when you have not even seen how the teams will use the players skill set.

Supposedly the Redskins also had a bad draft class this past year outside of RG3, but we all know there were plenty of impact rookies.

I think Kiper is good at evaluating prospects, he has hits and misses, just like everyone does, but I do not like when people try to grade a draft class.

IMO the answer is yes. Luck plays a role in football, including in the draft. For a famous example, if the Pats knew that Brady was Brady, they would have chosen him earlier in his draft. Over and above things like coaching, the Pats were lucky that a 6th round pick turned into an elite QB.

Here's a question that will "bake your noodle"- would Brady have become what he is today if he wasn't drafted in the 6th round and he was drafted in (let's say) the 1st round? Being drafted so late became the fuel for his fire.

Mayock was the only one close on his picks. Even during the draft he was dead on with some things outside of his draft.

Yes I agree. It doesn't matter if he's wrong with his predictions. Everyone is. Even NFL teams really don't know who they will pick before the draft. They might have an idea of who they like and will be available, but aren't really sure.

I respect Kiper because he works hard and he is informational and at the very least entertaining in my opinion.

Good question and who really knows the answer. However, if Brady had been drafted in the first round, he might still have fire, just a different one, such as the true pride of being a first rounder.

This is one reason why I prefer Mayock to Kiper.

Mayock is probably the best NFL draft analyst on TV.

I didn't even switch to ESPN's coverage once. Mayock all day any day.
