we could sign troy brown and fill two needs, corner and wr, that would help with the cap. lol

troy isnt worth 5mill in one year... the pats have probably the best gm/scouting staff in the nfl right now, so you have to trust that he wasnt worth the 5$mill and they made what they believe is the best move for their team... the league is set up to let this happen on purpose... its not like gauranteed contracts in the NBA.

I agree it's a cold move by the Pats, but it's the nature of the beast. I agree it sucks but I don't see the NFL doing anything about it anytime soon.

I just think that there are a lot of players and then there are guys like Troy Brown. He's one of the classiest guys in the NFL. He sucked it up, stepped up and delivered. He put his balls on the line. I don't think I can put a price on having a guy like that if I had a team. I think he deserved more from the Pats.

Who here thinks Joe Jurevicius would make an excellent fit playing for Belichick in place of Brown?
If only he was wearing a stained hoodie in that picture, it would be perfect... |

from what i've read, i wouldn't count out a return to the Pats for Brown. from a business standpoint, the Pats couldn't take a 5 million hit from him...however, they could resign him for what he would have made this year, with a signing bonus that would be less of a hit against the cap...
