I'm wondering how much the toe situation is playing into this. Is the team using this as an excuse against him, or are they convinced he's damaged goods if he continues on without the surgery. |

Re: Coles back to the Jets?
We had the Betts over Portis when amazingly Betts was able to run against that tough Minnesota run defense.
I think the toe has a big deal to do with it, but no one in the FO is a doctor, right, Matty? |

Re: Coles back to the Jets?
I think the toe coupled with an offense that Coles isn't looking forward to is adding to the decesion. It could be BS, but at this point I doubt it.

Re: Coles back to the Jets?
I've been thinking about this the past day and the more I think about it, the more it pisses me off. You are paid an outrageous salary to go out and do your job. Who the hell does Coles think he is to be like, "I'm not happy. You're not using me the way I want to be used. You're not running my kind of plays." If EVERY player in the NFL shared the same mentality, not a single player would remain on the same team. Being a team player is playing with the hand you are dealt. It's only been ONE season under Gibbs and already he doesn't like where things are headed. Whatever. Goodbye.
In addition to this being bullshit to begin with, if he doesn't hand back the bonus money and try to work something out, I feel like it borderlines on felonious larceny. I mean if I don't like my job and want to quit and then say, "But I'll keep the rest of my salary for this year, thanks." I would be thrown in jail. If there is even a HINT of truth to this, which I believe there is, even if Coles remains on the team, I want to see his ass benched and not play a down next year. Granted, he used to be one of my favorite Redskins players because of toughness and work ethic. Well where is the toughness and work ethic now? I guess it doesn't come into play off the field.

Re: Coles back to the Jets?
Coles signed his contract planning on playing for one coach then was stuck with another coach who maybe he didn't like as much? If he's not happy why should he stay miserable in Washington? That doesn't help either party.

So playing for a college turn Pro coach that quit is better than playing for a proven HOF coach? He might as well enroll in to University of South Carolina if he misses Spurrier so much. |

Redskins - as a receiver tell me which offense you want to play in?

Re: Coles back to the Jets?
I like the proposed deal if it can get worked out between the Skins and the Jets. it'd quiet the people calling for a good passrushing DE and we wouldn't have lost coles and gotten nothing in return. Anyone know what number the Jets pick since our first round picks would probably have to be switched as well?

Re: Coles back to the Jets?
If he doesn't want to play under a HOF coach like Gibbs that's certainly his choice.
I definitely question the logic of that choice, but it's his career. |

Gibbs all the way. You know better than to ask me that Daseal . Tell me this Daseal, wouldn't you as a player give Gibbs the benefit of the doubt and at least give it one more season before you walk out on a phat contract? |

Spurrier wasn't able to provide that and neither has Gibbs, yet. But what Gibbs has produced is a different attitude around Redskins Park. If Coles is so concerned about stats I guess he should look elsewhere. But if he checks the history books he'll see Gibbs worked with some quality WRs in Monk, Sanders and Clark, who all churned out some nice numbers. |

Re: Coles back to the Jets?
Exactly... I'm just so upset that he didn't want to give it just one more season.
