Re: Trevor Pryce on the Trading Block

Pryce would be terrible for us. The most important thing in all of this is his salary cap number. He's due to make somewhere between 6-7 million in base salaries this year, 7-8 million next year, and around 9 million in 2007. The Redskins can't afford that much on the salary cap. It's impossible, and the team would never consider it.

No, no, no, no, no!!!!! Not worth it and the D will get better with Lavar and Daniels back in the lineup.

Re: Trevor Pryce on the Trading Block

Theres probably a good chance that lavar plays end a lot next year. or atleast lines up close to teh line in a three point stace. He doesnt realrly have the technique, he just uses his athletic ability. This is clearly seen when good linemen just pick him up with ease. But if he practice it this offseason then he should become a lot more effective at blitzing.

The key though is going to be able to get pressure with our front four, which we havent been able to do. The corner and linebacker, and even safety blitzes worked great, but we were dependent on them. Even having bowen back will help, he was getting pretty good at blitzing before he went out, and we are better off having taylor in coverage then having to blitz.

Re: Trevor Pryce on the Trading Block

Trevor Pryce is a better DE than anyone the Redskins have had on their roster since Charles Mann retired.

However, he is not nearly good enough to trade for (meaning the Skins would lose players and/or picks) AND then consume about $6M in cap room on a team that needs to add talent and has precious little cap room to begin with.

The Skins can upgrade the DL for a lot less than that - - even thoughTrevor Pryce is a fine player.

Exactly, we do always forget Daniels. Since the defense played well enough all year, I think give Daniels a year to see how he works out at DE and maybe pick up a WR in the draft.

New rule in DC should be no one over 29.

Other than Brunell that's pretty much how it's been the past two offseasons or so.
