Re: F... Hotels
I place the blame squarely on D-Rave's inept packing, not the hotel.

Re: F... Hotels
No I worked with them. I worked for Marriott for over 10 years. Right out of college my management training was at the Marriott Marquis Times Square where I supervised a "floor" of housekeepers.

Re: F... Hotels
Doesn't it seem like the expensive hotels are the ones who charge for wi-fi?

Re: F... Hotels
Just because I left something behind doesn't mean it should be thrown away. If it's left it needs to be placed somewhere, because it obviously belongs to someone. If you leave your wallet or your credit card at the dinner table, does that give the waiter the right to use it?

Re: F... Hotels
IT is all about the $$$ and a captive audience. Most of the expensive hotels are business hotels so to a business person who can write off the wi fi it is easy money. When I left the big M we use to track RevPAR (revenue per available room) and used this gauge how profitable your property was but the new trend was to calculate RevPAG (revenue per available guest). This would include your room rate and any other dollars you spent on outlets in the hotel. A business travel usually always rated out highest on RevPAG because they generally ate in the hotel and used things like WIFI for convenience factors. It is why a lot of nicer hotels are on Expedia and stuff like that. Lets get them in the door and then see if we can make up the low room rental on amenities and outlets. Also understand a hotel room only has a shelf life of one night, I can never sell room 101 on 4/25/2012 ever again after tonight.

Re: F... Hotels
That's because most people that end up there are paid for by businesses so they are more inclined to juice the customer for everything since he's not the one paying it.

Re: F... Hotels
Folks check into to hotels and immediately think they don't have to think or do anything during their stay. Like they check their brain out when they check in.

Re: F... Hotels
Not blaming the hotel for it getting left behind, but I am blaming them for not placing it somewhere as when people forget things. The waiter analogy isn't far fetched as it seems. I mean I feel like if someone left something, if its found it needs to be placed somewhere in case they come back for it. Accidents happen, its nice to know that people aren't going to be complete dicks and say "oh well" and not give an F about other people and their items because its their own fault. But seems like that's how the world works nowadays. Spose I need to get with the times. Can't wait til I stumble along someones wallet. I'm jackin that shit.
