Re: Coach fight!

I'm sorry but I can't see anything that would justify Jim Schwartz's response. If a player would of done that he would be called an "animal" a trouble maker, a "thug", an undisciplined player with questionable character flaws.

We could only be so lucky.

Time for a cage match!
I actually like both coaches. But you're right that Harbaugh was not very gracious. At least look your peer in the eye and shake his hand. I also thought Schwartz overreacted. You're gonna try to fight the guy over that?

On a side note, you better believe every member of the Detroit Lions would lay in traffic for Jim Schwartz.

Re: Coach fight!

The You Tube video down there doesn't give the field view FOX showed...

Harbaugh gave the hard hand, NO eye contact, and the "slap" on the back was more like a "Get the 'F' outta here" shove... for real.

Never been a Jim Harbaugh basher... but that was complete disrespect, classless and Schwartz had every right to be HEATED. I'd have wanted to kick his ass too at that moment.

And I'm not even factoring in whatever Harbaugh said too.

Re: Coach fight!

Schwartz now claims that he received an obscenity but I don't think that happened until they re-collided closer to the tunnel.

Re: Coach fight!

JH celebration was good up until that hard slap/push to the back of Schwartz and no eye contact. I would've had a problem with that.

But the issue is WHO JH DID THIS TO... ANOTHER NFL HEAD COACH...NOT A PLAYER!!! THERE'S A FINE LINE BETWEEN CELEBRATING AND BEING A CLASSLESS JERK, AND JH CROSSED IT. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Re: Coach fight!

A credit to Harbaugh though, in the presser he said he was a little to revved up, he came in too rough with the handshake, and he said "that one was on me." I do think Shwartz was a little too quick to catch feelings about that though.

Harbaugh is a rookie HC and just took his surprising team to 5-1 by beating an undefeated team on the road. I understand him being fired up. Gotta take a breath and give due respect to your fellow coach, though. That's just part of the deal.

At the end of the day, emotions were running high for both teams. This will be a non-story come tomorrow.

Re: Coach fight!

Blown out of proportion. JH get the biggest win of his young NFL career and gets carried away. It wasn't like a player putting the ball in the opponent's face after a score. He was totally siked up after the big W and showed a little too much emotion that was called for. And as for JH's Cinderella story? It might end sometime, but not today. He sure has this team firing on all cylinders, much better than Singletary ever did.
