Just a guess here - - but I think he would prefer never to think of his season as a Redskin too.

Re: Prospects for McNabb in Minny

I'm trying to undertand how a guy that played here for all of 1 season get's so much sympathy. I mean what the hell is going on here ? He didn't even play that great, but we can give him all the time in the world but a coach runs out his welcome after the preseason. I mean damn.

I'll think of his time as a Redskin much as I'll think of Jason Taylor's time as a Redskin: nonexistent in the annals of Redskins history. Or better yet, that 2nd round pick that never saw a return on its' investment.

I will admit I'm still curious to know if that tidbit I read about Kyle Shanahan warning his dad not to trade for him is true. But then again we'll probably never know.

I'll be honest with you it's only because i get the impression that Donovan is a nice guy in real life, he always seems so cheerful and friendly, and it is good guys like him that you sort of have to feel bad for when their career is ending. It doesnt really have anything to do with him being a skin for one season, it's just like "dang, he was such a good guy, it's a shame his career has to end like this".

let me paraphrase what Ken Shamrock said about people hanging on too long, he is talking about fighting, but you can easily apply his words to any professional sport. It's probably the greatest thing i've ever heard when talking about someone's career going on when they are past their best. He said when somebody is a champion in the sport, how are they supposed to know when it's over, when the injuries don't heal and the losing streak doesnt end. How are you supposed to know when to give up when your whole career has been about working through the injuries and not giving up!

Donovan has had to deal with injuries and stuff his whole career, and now that he is at the end, he, like many others, will have a hard time admitting that is is coming to an end..

There are more than a few "sources who refuse to be identified" who say that Kyle Shanahan did NOT want to trade for Donovan McNabb before the trade was made and that he was convinced that McNabb was not going to play QB the way he wanted it played after the first or second practice with McNabb.

That is not "proof" but there are enough of these "anonymous sources" that I believe that Kyle Shanahan was against the trade from the time it was first proposed. Just my opinion...

Wow, look at how depressed he looks. What did we do to him?

That is what seems to be the word. I do tend to believe that, it's just a shame knowing that we probably gave up a 2nd round pick for a guy our offensive coordinator didn't want. Oh well. You live and you learn, hopefully.
