Re: NFL Player Holdouts - 2011
They are all an injury away from one leg with a permanent limp and the other leg in the poor house. Best get yourself paid before you get laid off.

Not anymore with the $30K/day penalty. Teams who really don't want to pay know these players can't hold out for long.

Re: NFL Player Holdouts - 2011
i think teams should have a known criteria for when they may consider re-doing a rookie contract. i completely agree with players like chris johnson and jackson.
my criteria: in your 3rd or 4th year of a rookie contract making less than 800k per year top 10 in specific categories or other predetermined criteria if i was a player like cj or desean and my team didnt want to restructure after ive earned a raise, i would tell them that when my contract expires i will only re-sign with them for 3-5 mil more than it should be to make up for the lost income in my rookie years. it just seems like bad business to me to short change a premier player who has done alot for your team. that cant brew happiness.

Howard Eskin I'm told that DeSean Jackson hold out will be for the long haul. Not coming to Eagles camp anytime soon.

Re: NFL Player Holdouts - 2011
That "he signed a contract so he needs to fulfill it" is a moronic argument to say the least. Why is it moronic? Because the owners can cut players without fulfilling the contract!! I think players should have opt out clauses in their contracts based on performance, just as well as owners cutting the player due to lack of performance. No sense that players like CJ and DJ are paid what they are.
Also, if S. Holmes is worth 10mil per, than D. Jackson should be worth 13 mil per. I'd take him any day of the week over Holmes. |

I'm not even on it...ha.
But, the media cites Twitter as a source all over the place.

Nothing to talk about.
Besides, after this FA buzz is over, I'll go back to not caring about it.

That's the good thing with Twitter, you can just follow. You don't have to say anything.
