Talk would truly get interesting if that were to happen with Jason Campbell leading the way.

JC getting a division title his first year with the Raiders would put a question mark on the McNabb trade if we don't produce ourselves.

Say what you want about Tavaris Jackson but the guys is a pretty solid NFL QB. I'd say he might even be better then Campbell. The thing is the Vikings have Super Bowl aspirations and they would need a 2001 like Ravens defense to get that far. They're a great defensive team, just not good enough to win a championship on their own.

Re: Raiders sign QB Colt Brennan

There is a real possibility that Jason Campbell will do well in Oakland and perhaps a playoff berth even, but if a Donovan McNabb is out there you take him 99 out of 100 times. That's no indictment on Campbell, it's just that Donovan McNabb, even at this stage in his career, is a top 10 quarterback in the NFL.

What we do know is that Jason is a starter for sure in the NFL, but what remains to be seen is can he take the next step and become an elite starter in this league. While we can split hairs all day about the systems he's played in, coaching changes, and the talent he's been surrounded with, he's yet to take that next step.

Brennan will not unseat Campbell, ever. anywhere. anytime. Only in the fantasies of the Cult of Colt will Brennan be anything more than a NFL back-up and he is barely that.

Does the Cult even exist? I mean I've seen people suggest giving him a shot when times were tough, or inquiries of curiosity as to how Colt would fair during the regular season, but thats about it. I don't think I've ever seen anyone suggest that Colt should be our franchise QB's outside of a few jokes.

^^ Now now, Colt is the greatest Hawaii quarterback since Timmy Chang.

Tarvaris Jackson? Better than JC? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Gus took over for him in 2008 remember and went 8-3 with the Vikes. If that lunkhead Jackson didn't screw things up during his brief reign, the Vikes would have been playoff bound. That would have been a total scream if Gus got the Vikes to the playoffs. I would only get half the heat I do now for liking him!!!!!!

Tavaris looked a lot better in his limited playing time (mostly preseason). 2 years for a young QB is an eternity as far as development.

Without having read the full thread, a couple comments.

1) The AFC West is not the NFC East. JC has been going against Dallas, Philly and Giants D 2 times a year for a while now. Compare that to KC, Denver and even SD. His improvements, even to the point of a division title, would not really give a good comparison to whatever happens here in DC.

2) Even saying the Raiders will win the division seems a bit of a stretch, possible, but not the most likely outcome.

3) JC could be in a good position if Denver implodes and KC stays down as expected.

Yeah, but Tavaris really sucked in 2008 Tryfuhl. Not saying Gus is better than Tavaris, not yet anyway, since we have to see more of Tavaris to make a honest comparison, but saying Tavaris is better than JC right now, is quite the stretch.

I understand all that, but it is all about perception, especially in the media. You know if my scenario does happen(JC in the playoffs, McNabb out) that some boneheads will question the move to get Donovan, and all that crap. The AFC West sucks monkey balls. THe Skins could easily win that division right now, but might end up as low as 3 in the NFC East in '10.

Whoever wins the AFC West is likely one-and-done in the playoffs, making the point kind of moot.

True, but to the media whores, that won't matter if the Skins don't. They want to make a story and stir up shit.
