Re: Brian Westbrook Meeting with Redskins on Wednesday

I think Parker was a long-shot to make the team from the start. If Westbrook is healthy, i think he's essentially garaunteed a rosterspot and Portis and Johnson battle it out to be the other veteran RB. Unless something crazy happens, i cant see keeping a 3rd RB who doesnt play special teams.

I'd rather have Brian Westbrook than Parker, but I don't think I'd really want Westbrook anyway. When healthy he'd make a great pass catching 3rd down back, but how often is he healthy?

And if signing him means we're also keeping Byron Westbrook...well then, just shoot me now

Wow! I don't know about that one BHA, the Rams didn't even offer him a contract. I think this team is in need of RB's, but of the younger more talented/durable variety.

i wouldn't mind one Westbrook, and not the one who supposedly plays defense

well, i honestly dont get the impression that westbrook is healthy, so the point is probably moot.

McNabb & Westbrook in b&G, too weird! Already weird enough w/#5 here.

this looks like another due diligence move by the FO & Shanny, might as well take a look at the guy. I agree w/most here who question Parker's ability to make the team, and I also don't see Westbrook making it even if signed. I hope its CP, LJ & a rookie come sept. 12.

Actually, after he passed his physical with the Rams, some reports made sound like it was Westrbrook's decision of whether or not to join the team.

Report: Brian Westbrook passes physical with St. Louis Rams - ESPN

I hear you, I would love a circa 2006 version Brian Westbrook. I just haven't seen that guy for a few years. His injury time has been steadily rising.

I'd rather have Brian Westbrook than Portis....Come on guys seriously a Westbrook/Johnson combination could be too much for most teams if both of these guys are healthy!!

Re: Brian Westbrook Meeting with Redskins on Wednesday

as of now, without getting to see what johnson, portis or parker look like in preseason and training camp, id welcome westbrook into the fold as well.

i think portis is going to be here and probably be the most productive back of the four, but i think its a toss up btw johnson, parker and westbrook if he is signed.

If westbrook is cleared to play, i could see him beating out johnson and parker.

johnsons's contract has a little more staying power than parkers who isnt guaranteed a thing, so that might play into consideration as well.

i dont see any downside to bringing westbrook in. if healthy, he could be a serious weapon. thats a big if, but even getting 12 or so games out of him wouldnt be a bad result.

Westbrook hasn't even been remotely healthy for almost 4 seasons. No reason to think he could be now. I'd love to have Westbrook ala '05-'06 but not so much now.
