That's good to know because without that assurance it would be extremely difficult for GM's to prepare. I'm anxious to see how this all plays out.

Here's another thing I heard thorugh the grapevine. Supposedly cutting all our high price vets will not clean our books as much as we thought.

From what I understand only the 2010 part of the deadcap fee will be applied to 2010 (the uncapped year). But the deadcap hits for 2011 and beyond will stay on the books until a new CBA is in place.

So if we cut Moss this year, his 2010 deadcap fee of $3.7M would go against the 2010 cap (and thus be "free"). But the rest of the deadcap charges from 2011 on (total $5.5M) would stay on the books. So if a new CBA is in place by 2011, we would eat a $5.5M deadcap charge.

Schneed or anyone else hear this?
