Spurrier had a Natl Championship and plenty of bowl wins but couldnt do squat in the pros. The pro & college game are very different and success of lack of success in one or the other doesnt mean anything. |

Re: Thoughts on Charlie Weis
Didn't want to start a new thread on this, but we could be close to losing Scott Wachenheim to a head coaching job in college. He's a leading candidate in a couple of places

Re: Thoughts on Charlie Weis
yeah its on Redskins Insider. I think pretty much everyone on the offensive coaching staff knows they'll become unemployed in the near future.

Re: Thoughts on Charlie Weis
Just realized I didn't write Wachenheim and Stump. Meant to say both of them. But yes, they are both candidates in multiple places. Apparently, Wach is closer to a head coaching gig

Re: Thoughts on Charlie Weis
Like many Notre Dame fans, I was thrilled when Weis went to South Bend and allowed myself the delusion of thinking he would bring them back into the hunt for a national championship. Like many Notre Dame fans I was disappointed with the results of his tenure there and just as thrilled to see him kicked to the curb. He was a disaster as a head coach. He was an excellent coordinator in the NFL though and probably will be again. If it is here, so be it. I just don't want him to be the head coach, or I may to start rooting for my second favorite team, the Ottowa Rough Riders.

Re: Thoughts on Charlie Weis
Good luck to anyone trying to win in Notre Dame. They simply can't compete with the football powers.

Re: Thoughts on Charlie Weis
Poor bastard must be desperate for a job and his agent is working overtime spreading rumors that links him to the Skins. That's usually something you do for players but for coaches? That ain't right.
