I think Haynesworth being dominant is the very least thing to worry about. Once he had the chance to make an impact, he made his presence felt and made a statement with the stops on 3rd & 1 and 4th & 1. After this play, Couglin knew for sure they weren't going to get much up the middle. Forget grading Zorn's playcalling, Coughlin should get an F just for this play alone on 4th and inches - to go into the teeth of the redskins D. Unbelievable - his ego must be huge to try to do something stupid as this.

Re: Haynesworths revenge on Jason Brown

I wonder if people will fail to fully appreciate his impact this year. Seems like a lot of people, not just fans, are focusing on the stat line 4 tackles 1 for a loss, and automatically writing it off as a poor performance. Will he play better, I have no doubt. But at the same time he's never going to put up gaudy numbers that jump off the stat sheet. I thought his impact was felt on the short yardage stops we had.

How many yards did the vagiants rush for again? Seems like his impact was subtle but very effective.

I have the feeling that Jason Brown is a masochist and can't wait to get slapped about.

He won't be the only one sucking oxygen on those humid days either.

I couldn't agree more. Daniels should pretty much be moved to DT, and be in that rotation. Orakpo should just replace him now at DE, Griffin's got to play harder and command more double teams. Now your probably wondering who would replace orakpo if I were to move him to DE full time, I would just go ahead and sign Derrick Brooks. He could finish out a full season with us.

without looking, 120 yards or so. 50+ for Brandon, and just over 60 for 'Fire'. Fantasy football figures.

If he averages a sack every two games, and we can hold the league's best run offense to 30 yards below their last year's average(Giants w/ 120 or so yds sunday), then we are getting what paid for. His numbers probably will never jump out. I saw him pushing the pocket, i saw one of the leagues best downhill runners be denied the 1 gap almost all game. What i didn't see was anyone else on the defense take advantage of his pressure. Where was Orakpo? Oh i remember, sitting on his heels scared.

Re: Haynesworths revenge on Jason Brown

They ran for 103, with Jacobs at 46 (avg 2.9). Bradshaw killed us with 60 and a 5.0 average.

AH plays enough, IMO. The trick is to have a good rotation to keep everyone fresh. To rotate players, you need to take them out of the game at times. We had a forced fumble and a pick off pressure in that game--game changers if our O can move the ball. The long drives hurt, but the D will step up in the next few weeks. The much bigger question is will AH be on the field at all late in the year. That's the crucial thing and we obviously won't know until it happens.

Gints have a good oline, but AH moved em back in the middle. Plus, he keeps people off of London. The big issue is 3rd down short and intermediate pass D, IMO.

I disagree that Haynesworth was merely average. On the 4th and a foot from our 3 yard line, Haynesworth beat a double team to turn the ball over on downs. He was the biggest reason that the Giants had no success on 3rd and 1 situations. When he was blocked 1 on 1, he pushed the Giants left guard around like a blocking sled. He ended up with 4 tackles (one for a loss), which is a pretty damn good day considering that the G-men consistently ran away from him after realizing that it was futile running through Phat Albert. Don't measure Haynesworth's contribution by stats alone. He is freeing up London Fletcher to make big hits by occupying blockers.

Phat All has me doing double takes. When he talks off the field he sounds like a nerd. On the sidelines of gameday he looks like someone slapped his mother. Has anyone seen that look in his eyes? I like it. I like it a lot.

That's the thing I noticed most about the line of scrimmage, when the giants had the ball, compared to last year. I think the battle in the trenches was won by the redskins.

And with orakpo, I don't think he's scared. He is just not comfortable playing at linebacker. He shouldn't be starting there if he's not ready.

He's got that Mike Tyson thing going for him. A killer with a lisp. Even though phat doesn't really have a lisp, he's so soft spoken he might as well have one.

Brooks is a weak side backer. If we are going to move Rak to the line we should bring back SLB Marcus Washington.
