Oops, did I say that? I didn't mean to offend, Giantone.

I think the 5 losses, as they came out:

  • Week 4 vs TB
  • Week 5 at CAR
  • Week 12 at PHI
  • Week 13 vs NO
  • Week 16 vs DAL
Not that I should be held to that.

I like your line of predicting the losses, but when the hell in recent memory have we ever swept the Gmen? I mean in recent years we should have swept them many times on paper only to piss victory away. I see us sweeping Dallas before we sweep NY.

If it looks like a homer thread, then there's enough room for everyone.
12 wins, yeah right.

Cowboys 9-7 + or - 1

no offense to you but you really think the Redskins will have the chops to win 4 out of 6 NFC East games but will lose to Tampa Bay and Carolina? I am much more comfortable saying that the Skins beat TB and Carolina and maybe go 3 for 6 against the NFC Beast.

I think that is the safe bet for every team in the NFCE. One team will win more than 10 but who knows who the heck it'll be.

I understand your argument and it makes sense. On the other hand, however, we have a history of raising our game for NFC Beast foes and then playing down to the Tampas of the world.

Yeah but the second half of the season is brutal for Washington. 4 of the final 8 games are against division opponents. The toughest being back to back road division games at Philly and at Dallas respectively.

Then after playing very physical games in that back to back stretch, come home to FedEx to play Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.

A bright spot in the second half of the season is the last regular season game. With the AFC West being so weak, you can expect that San Diego will have locked up that division by week 17 and will rest their starters in that last game.

And with all the teams in the NFC East tracking for a Wild Card, that could be the decision maker for the Redskins. Make those games against the the weaker teams in the AFC West count (Oak, Den, KC), split division games and if SD does rest their starters in that last game, you could be playing for a wild card spot in week 17.

You are correct about the latter half of the schedule being tough. But we won back-to-back games in Philly and in Dallas last year.

Re: NFL predictions

Gene Wojciechowski has 44 predictions for the 2009 season - ESPN

Dude has us last in the NFC East....he doesnt elaborate much on why...just says we will cause problems if Fat Albert plays well, but that it wont translate into wins...then references our tough second half schedule.

Gruden picked us last as well, I heard it yesterday

Re: NFL predictions

Michael Silver, whom I usually abhor, picked us 2nd and with a playoff berth.

Clayton thinks we'll do well too....

Majority of people I've heard think we'll go 8-8 again, best case scenario

Clayton almost always has around 10-6. Collinsworth had some nice things to say about us too. Wilbon has us at 10-6

Wilbon is a hack in my opinion...I grew up reading his columns in the post every morning...never cared for him...especially after hearing/seeing him on tv

Waited till now, if all goes well injury wise, we make the playoffs at 12-4. Love everything about this team.
