Re: Brandon Marshall anyone

#1. I'm tired of giving up draft picks.
#2. Is he truly worth it?
#3. Maybe one pick in 2010 and one pick in 2011.
#4. I would not give up our 1st round pick at t his point. Depending on how JC does we may be looking for a QB next yr.

When given the "Who would you do" in Head cases I picked Marshall the whole time wondering when this thread was going to show up. He definitly would make the WR corpse better. How about we give them ARE plus like a third round pick. lol. He definitly could be used in different packages. He has speed and is shifty as well as being able to take a hit. Could you see Moss, Thomas, and Marshall on the field together. whooo hooo.

1st and 3rd is too much. If Denver would negotiate then if I was DS I would talk to them.

Re: Brandon Marshall anyone

Brandon Marshall is a talented WR, but he has some off the field issues that are a Red Flag. If you trade for him than you will have to give him a new big contract. We don't have the money to risk on him. Lets just stand fast and see what our 2nd round WR corp will produce this season. I do believe we will one day develope our on WR draft pick. ( Moss, ARE,Lloyd,Coles,Patten) enough is enough is it so hard to draft a WR that can make an impact on our team? Please D.Thomas and M. Kelly we need you to step up.

NOOOOOO on Marshall........................

exactly. Only a matter of time before he gets himself into some serious trouble.

Re: Brandon Marshall anyone

Marshall is up there w/the best, he's a notch above Boldin IMO & he's really just hitting stride. But, there are the external issues.

Any team would have to consider a reasonable deal, especially if Denver can't get the price they want & they reduce their offer. Still, I think it's time we live w/what we have as others have said. Just spent a ton of $ on a guy that is dominant but has a history of anger problems. Don't think it would be prudent to do that on the other side of the ball as well.

Re: Brandon Marshall anyone

Offer them something decent, maybe two thirds, and stay pat. Maybe up to a 2nd. He would instantly be our #1WR. Personally, I think by opening day we see Moss at 1, Thomas or Kelly at 2, and ARE in the slot.

As they said on NFL radio last night. There's a reason Pittsburgh, who didn't have any WRs at the time, let ARE go pretty easily.

In a nutshell that shows you how Pitt operates & why they're successful; they let Plax & ARE go & re upped w/Ward.

Not putting ARE down, but they realized he was more of a fan favorite/celebrity for his passes to Ward than he was a starting wr.

Re: Brandon Marshall anyone

They are lucky to have gotten Santonio though...

Pittsburgh isn't good b/c of the WR's they have or have not. They are good b/c they have a solid defensive core of players (which we have) and a battle tested QB who knows what it takes to win (which we, to this point, have not). After this season we will know a little bit better about our QB situation and should be able to make a definitive move in one direction or another.

I say keep the picks for now...there will likely be some other star WR who will become available next offseason. Or maybe, and i know this is a hard pill to swallow for a lot of ppl here, our FO was right about one of our 3 2nd rd. picks last year.

Re: Brandon Marshall anyone

no thanks. guy is a good wr, but also is batshit crazy. if we want to to blow some money or draft picks, it should be on someone for the OL. i say we keep our picks and hope for some real results from at least someone named williams, thomas, and/or kelly.

I wasn't saying they're good because of their wr's. I'm saying they're good because of their overall approach to personel. I just used the wr's as an example of that. That solid core of defensive players is there because they haven't overspent on any one position area.
