You really do not believe the fans influenced the Fassel decision? In 30 years of following the redskins I can never remember the redskins fans so collectively opposed to any one decision. They had to know that and be taken aback by it. That wasn't the normal some like some hate it decision....that was like 99% angry disapproval from their paying customers.

No I think Fassel and Cerrato's general dislike of each other played a much bigger role. They just couldn't agree on a model to work together.

Personally, I wasn't one of those against Fassel. I thought he would have been the right coach with Zorn as the OC.

I agree 100,000,000%
Look at Robert Kraft: he's a former pats season ticket holder but he seems to let his football people make the football decisions. In this situation a more rational football mind would say the team has so many more important holes to fill that trading up to get a project QB who could eventually be great isn't worth it. The problem is that Snyder seems to think "well, we were 8-8 last year, so with a new stud QB we could make it to the Super Bowl." That's illogical.

Re: We have the power?

I saw Ozzie Newsome being asked about trading for Boldin and got a good insight into the way this man thinks. On giving up multiple picks for an established player, he basically said, with a first round pick you're getting a player in his prime for a very low price. When you trade for a marque player, you're not only giving up the picks, but an awful lot of money to the player which because of the cap, restricts you from fulfilling other needs. I've always admired Ozzie. Watch and learn Danny/Vinny.

Okay Smoot...I will take your word for it. I didn't know about the Fassel Vinny dislike angle. Then if that's true I guess Fassel was never as close to getting the job as the media lead us to believe.

No, he had a good shot because he and Snyder like each other and Fassel was/is really eager to be an NFL head coach again that he thought he could deal with it. But at the end of the day, Snyder had already decided Cerrato was his top executive and Fassel didn't want to answer to anyone but the owner. But that's not how Snyder had structured it.

I agree from beginning to end.

To think that the fans influenced Danny regarding the Fassel decision presumes that Danny listens clearly to others. I have seen little evidence of this. Danny may seek advice from others but in the final analysis seems to listen only to himself.

Write massive quantities of complaint letters to the Redskins FO.

I'm prepared to make the template and send it out to everyone if needed.

Who is with me!?
I petition against this petition.
You know what happens to petitions? They get thrown away. Do you really think Dan Snyder gives a rats-ass what you think he should do with his team, picks or money? You (and I and countless other die-hards) will continue to support his (our) franchise regardless of what these idiots do...unfortunately.

SWAG = Stuff We All Get... usually for free. I wish. This thread is so rediculous that I have am now correcting peoples post. I am attempting to make a post that is possibly more rediculous than this thread. (and yes, I know I have misspelled ridiculous)

Amen, brother.

With so many obvious issues along our offensive line, if they pass up any of the O-tackles that will be available to them at #13, I think you'll see an equally livid fan base.

This is right on LOL. Synder is very wealthy and he made his money by doing it his way. He also thinks he can win a Super Bowl the same way by doing it his way. Hard heads dont learn right away, this may take quite some time for him to learn this. I hope to think the front office knows more than us Redskins fans considering they make thousands of dollars more than us. We spend time doing this for the love of our team. Hummm who is really the smart one.

Well for me i got all the time in the world cause i'm at working typing these threads. Hail

You are so right about that. He should let the professionals run personnel. I may be in the minority, but I think that Vinny and his staff are capable of building this team into a perennial contender if allowed to do so without the handicaps of having fewer draft picks and less salary cap room because of Snyder's penchant for signing famous players.

I'm with you on this. Synder has the itch for getting high profile players (Haynesworth, Sanders, etc) and thinks this is fantasy football. We all know this Sanchez deal (if it happens) is 100% Synder and no one else. Unfortonetly Vinny always gets charged with guilt by association, but Synder is the Real GM, and Vinny's the scapegoat.
