re: Zorn feels like worst coach in America.

Zorn is not the problem, it is our head office. Zorn deserves another shot. The growing pains of a new coach were delayed because of our early success. The fact we are 7-7 after aint too bad. Yeah I wish we could have played better throughout the whole season, but truth be told I saw us going 6-10.

Dude, why would you even want him as OC? His offensive scheme has already been figured out and makes Norv's offensive scheme look as genius as Martz's when he was on top with the Rams. Only thing I would make Zorn is a QB coach. He has no business as a OC, much less a HC.

So what players do you think are laying down?

You are right and wrong. Our Front Office messed up after 2000 firing Marty because he wanted GM powers. Snyder gambled with Spurrier after Gibbs rebuffed the HC offer. The Spurrier "experiment" was a disaster, then he finally got Gibbs back on. Gibbs did get us to the playoffs again, but there was no magic to be had again. You are wrong with Zorn though. His system sucks and the players know it. You can't fit squares in round holes. THe personnel we have is built around the running game and a nice down the field passing game. Dink and Dunk negates the speed of both Moss and Randle El. Of course our WR's having the case of the dropsies compounds the problem, but we simply have the wrong personnel for his system. On top of that his system has been busted wide open and pretty much figured out by our opposition. Only way Zorn can be successful in '09 is by pretty much revising his current system or throwing it out completely. The WCo might work in the crappy NFC West, but in the East, where the beasts lay, you need to be able to throw the deeper ball.

Yeah, who is laying down? You want to get rid of non performers might as well gut the whole offense(minus a few players Cooley, Portis, Moss), but then you have to totally start over from scratch. ANd th at I think is what Snyder might be thinking. If you have to gut the whole thing, might as well bring in a proven commodity to do it.

They do appear flat to me.
If you saw (I hate to even think it) Dallas play the other night against the Gmen. Their D was everywhere, and super fired up! We are not doing anything that resembles...that. Flat, no emotion. As bad as we have played, no one is noticibly, even mad? I don't get that?
We NEED to find it to spoil the Eagles party this Sunday

I think its about time that Zorn has stepped up and put a check on himself. Now I can say that I have a small amount of respect for him. Usually he'll throw anybody on that team under the bus without taking any responsibility for his own actions.

Its about time...

I've always liked Zorn, i just wish he would have re-thought his schemes a few weeks ago. He deserves another year though, but he better higher a qb coach and maybe some new blood on the coaching staff.

I highly doubt Seattle would drop Mora, a guy w/ HC experience, for Zorn. However, I think you're on to something. Everyone assumes Zorn's departure would be a firing but I truly believe it's more likely he leaves of his own accord (partly because I don't think Snyder/Cerrato want to fire him after one season and partly because I really suspect Zorn will have had enough by season's end). So the scenario would be Mora as HC and Zorn as OC in Seattle. Zorn wouldn't have to deal w/ the media any longer - especially DC media - and overall would avoid the kind of scrutiny that has him looking like a nervous wreck.

Bottom line: i really suspect Zorn is deciding whether the HC gig is for him (yet) and won't be surprised if we have a 2nd HC resign in two consecutive seasons.

Resigning after the first season? I sure hope not. One bad season is no reason to resign right away, unless he REALLY feels like coaching is not the thing for him.

Well admittedly I'm wrong a lot, probably more often than not. Anyway I hope so too but thinking about it from Zorn's perspective worries me i.e. if he really did have the opportunity to be OC in Seattle, which is home in the first place, and avoid all the crazy media and scrutiny for probably a similar paycheck... not hard to believe he'd take it. Oh yeah, he wouldn't have to work for/with Snyder and Cerrato anymore either. Somehow I doubt that has been entirely enjoyable as these guys have egos that wouldn't fit in the stadium if it had a dome.

re: Zorn feels like worst coach in America.

If Zorn left now, of his own accord, I think it would hurt his chances of becoming a head coach again. I don't think he would leave because it would be quitting and he would be considered a failure. At least I think that is how he would feel about it. I don't think that's his style. I really think he can win here and given a chance and a little support from the FO he will. Now....will he get that from the FO? Who knows?

AMEN Brother!!! I still feel that better days are ahead if we stick to the offense and get the young receivers involved as they improve. It doesn't matter what schemes we run on offense or defense if we don't get better in the trenches, especially through the draft.

Re: Zorn feels like worst coach in America.

Ask Detroit if they'd like a rookie coach who can bring a .500 record.

Stupid statement. It's not Zorn's fault that key guys get hurt, the offensive line got old (and hurt) and guys are dropping passes and fumbling like Plaxico carrying his gun.
