Just like there was a time when Brunell gave us the best chance. This notion that we want some players to start over others must mean we hate those other players is asinine. Heck, look at my screen name. You'd think I want Smoot starting every game. Far from it, he's best suited as a nickel back, maybe even a dime back depending on the talent ahead of him. I don't want him starting, but I certainly don't hate him.
I don't wanna throw my boy in the fire but Im talking about the people on this site who see JC as the man with all the answers. I don't want my boy getting his nerves shot but when is somebody ready. Throwing a guy out there is a hit or miss. I don't believe a player shouldn't have to wait two or three seasons to prove himself. If you can play you can play look at first timers Flacco and Matt from the falcons two players who are getting the job done. Don't give me the line is superior crap also because thats the same line that got Harrington and Leftwich nearly killed last year.

Matt Ryan and Flacco were picked in the first 20 picks of the draft. Colt Brennan was a 6th rounder. He's a typical Hawaii / June Jones "system" guy, that played against inferior talent in college. Put him at QB and we'd be 2-11 rather than 7-6. Colt Brennan = Timmy Chang.

with these colt JC threads i find myself basically repeating myself every week to the point i annoy myself. how can anyone of us have a new or original thought about either qb that we havent posted/talked about already?

im almost ready to start up a good ole "your not a fan if . . ." thread just to shake up the daily routine. my bad about being a thread downer, i should probaly stick to my policy of just not opening the thread to begin with.

I sure as hell hope not or we're in deep $hit.

You do realize that would be a horrible thing right? It would mean JC failed and we are back at square one with waiting to see if a guy can develop. By the time Colt comes around Portis/Moss are gone or a shell of themselves.

Okay because Delaware is a power house school or a great division..And Matt was a virtual nobody until his senior year who couldn't win his conference championship. The only game Colt got his ass kicked was Georgia which was number 1 ranked and the start of the season.

Re: Colt Brennan

JC is falling back into his old habits. The 13 yard drop back into the pocket and then getting sacked reminds me of a couple of years ago. He's time is running out. Gibbs brought him here but he is not safe. None of them are.

I still think he will out last Zorn.

My point is, I will take the opinion of the NFL scouts and GMs who evaluate talent for a living who all had Ryan and Flacco as highly rated and had Brennan as a 6th rounder, many had Brennan as going undrafted.

I don't know what Brennan has done to have some folks on this board clamoring for him other than looking for an alternative to JC. Outside of a couple pre-season quarters against guys who didn't make NFL rosters, the guy's done nothing. He isn't physically impressive, doesn't have a strong arm and has a poor release. Pardon me for not annointing him the savior.

Re: Colt Brennan

I will say this, if we're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, I'd like to get a look at Brennan with some live bullets. I don't consider him the replacement for Campbell, but it would be interesting to see.
