Re: Gears of War 2 thread
Does that mean you guys play a game of Pong now and then?
Speaking of old school we have a Robotron 2084 arcade machine at work. We have a gang of 8 co-workers battling it out every day for top dog position. It's crazy addicting.

Re: Gears of War 2 thread
That was a pretty damn amazing level. Soaked in worm blood sawing through arteries. I never played GOW 1, so this is all new to me.

Re: Gears of War 2 thread
Well, I just beat this game. And I guess it should be obvious, but they set it up for a 3rd installment. You'll know what I mean if you wait through the credits.

Re: Gears of War 2 thread
I got online with GOW2 last night for the first time, not all that impressed with the matchmaking or the gameplay. Takes damn near 20 minutes to get in a game, and then it's kinda "meh" once you're in. I may be grabbing COD after all.

Re: Gears of War 2 thread
Yeah GOW 2 has seem to be a mixed bag on reviews. anyone else play multi-player? This would be my many reason for purchasing the game.

Re: Gears of War 2 thread
I've never been a big fan of GOW online, but the solo campaign is well worth it.

Thanks I think I will rent it. Mother in law is coming for the next two days, I will just lock myself in with GOW and knock it out.

Re: Gears of War 2 thread
Yeah definitely worth a rental. You can probably knock it out in 10 hours or less.

Re: Gears of War 2 thread
I beat the game yesterday, took me all of 8 days and I didn't even play it every day. Very short game but well worth it. I'll definitely play through it again.

Re: Gears of War 2 thread
The new COD is pretty good, pretty much the same game as COD4 but set in WWII, but honestly it's been tough to get used to the old weapons, I miss my M16.

Re: Gears of War 2 thread
Was anyone else kind of disapponted with this game? For all the hype I heard about it being bigger and better I found it to be almost exactly like the first game. That's not a bad thing, as I loved the first. But given that the then revolutionary gameplay isn't as much of a revelation the second time around I found it harder to overlook the weak story (seriously, that last level is just plain silly. Worst final boss of all time).
My XBOX is getting fixed now (third time in two months, morons) so I haven't gotten online yet, although I'm sure that's fun. But I don't know, I heard so much about how the scale of the game blows away the first one and, save for a few scenes, I found it to be pretty much the same game of tunnel hunting. Now that I'm sure most of us have finished it what do you guys think? Also, Dead Space or Fallout 3 for my next game? |

I just played the demo of Deep space and it seemed weak but has gotton great reviews. I am leaning towards Fallout 3 never played any in the series but it seems like a game that will entertain for a long time. I still have not played GOW 2 and from the sounds of it I am not missing much.
