Heyer should be fine. We'll see what Green can do today. He's played for Blache before.

Yeah well I'm not happy about this. Samuels is hugely important, especially to the running game, and with Horton and Springs out and Smoot gimpy, that's a big % of our secondary. We better be real careful today.

CP isn't licking his chops nearly as much with Samuels out, trust me.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread

I really hope these players are inactive because they absolutely cannot play and not just because we're resting them for the Steelers game. We're getting to the point of the season were every game counts regardless of if we're playing the hapless Lions or the 5-1 Steelers. I just hope whoever is making these decisons to deactivate these players isn't underestimating the Lions.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. I didn't know Samuels and Horton were even a question mark this week. Both of their injuries occurred against St. Louis, and they both played last week.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread

Tackle Chris Samuels was a late scratch with inflammation in the cartilage in his right knee. He participated in warm-ups but was unable to go. Tackle Stephon Heyer is starting in his place.

Safety Chris Horton (ankle) is also out. Mike Green, who has been with the team just a few weeks, is starting in his place. Running back Ladell Betts (knee), corner Shawn Springs (calf), Cornelius Griffin (shoulder) are also out.

QB Colt Brennan, WR Malcolm Kelly, OL Chad Rinehart are healthy scratches.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread

Keyshawn just talked about how Shawn Springs will do a good job today taking Detroit WR "Kevin" Johnson out of the game. Sigh. Where does ESPN get these guys? It's awful.

IF Springs was even playing he'd probably do a good job on CALVIN Johnson.

Wonder why....they are having a blackout due to ticket sales, or lack there of. Because they SUCK SO BAD. There might be more SKIN fans than lion fans in that place.

They said this was the 1st time in Ford Field home game history this has happened.
