I believe they lived in New Rochelle, NY (just outside SW Connecticut, not exactly near Hartford)

Once you said that... you're right. But it is still the image I personally get when I hear "Hartford CT". Obviously, that image is not based in reality though... but that is the story of my life. (see my sig)

I'm glade to say that this is not the norm in Americia but it is the norm for a bad area where no one wants to get involved. We just experienced tornadoes about a month ago and the entire community came together and everyone helped everyone no matter how bad things were. I see this happen all of the time in Americia but that does not make the news but this stuff does.

Yeah I should've clarified the difference, I'm glad this isn't the norm across America as well but this is the first I've ever heard of a situation like that. I guess I shouldn't be too suprised after all, there are people across America that have done much worse things than this.

Re: Crime Watchers Hartford CT Video

I saw this on the today show the other day. Made my little geriatric social work heart hurt very badly. Whatever happened to human decency? The man was very seriously injured.

On the positive side, I was also watching a rerun of Dateline where they set up people by renting an armored vehicle, and throwing out what looked like deposit bags. There was a number on the bag to call if found, and the hope was people would do so. Believe it or not 9 out of 11 were returned unopened.

Not the best comparison, but after seeing the video of the elderly man, it was a glimpse of hope.

Exactly what the hell are the people doing while standing over the guy? They look like they're talking about last night's episode of The Office. Could they appear any less concerned? The guy is laying in the middle of the street, isn't moving and is probably bleeding and they look like the dopes from King of the Hill just standing there. Sweet lord I'd think this was fake if I didn't know better.
